Which universities have the most online student? https://www.insidehighered.com/digital-learning/article/2019/12/17/colleges-and-universities-most-online-students-2018
San Diego State has 35K students online. Based on my experience on campus (assistant professor, 1988-92), students probably can't get into classes online, either. /s
There are a few things that jump out at me re the top 10. First, I wouldn't have guessed WGU was #1 but after thinking about it for a minute I can see how it would be true. Second, there are 2 for-profits in the top 10. Third, there are 2 religious schools in the top 10. Fourth, Central Florida was a surprise. Fifth, what the heck is little Ivy Tech CC doing in the top 10? https://www.ivytech.edu/
"Little" Ivy Tech? Ivy Tech is hardly little - it is the network of community colleges in Indiana. Check their website again and look at the campus map - they are all over the place.
Yeah, clearly you're right. I pay little attention to community colleges. Neglectful of me, I'm sure.
The problem I have with "networks" is that they skew numbers depending on structure. SUNY, surely, has a great many students. But because SUNY schools are all independent despite being part of the same "network" those numbers get segmented.
When I first started looking at places to complete my degree online, Ivy Tech always popped up in the search results.
