Did Walden really register their competency based model as Tempo Learning? Does Walden have a widespread reputation for stretching out studies?

I've been researching Walden and the reviews aren't very good...it seems as though they are stretching the classes.

You should only use competency based degree providers only at the Masters level. You should stick with the Big 3 for a "grounded" undergrad.
Since you updated this post, I'll update yours in regards to starting out...

I think this is common among for-profit schools but I've only heard of this in doctoral programs (dissertation phase).

I've read some interesting things over the years regarding Walden and their Doctoral programs. The negatives usually discuss issues with faculty stability. One account likened it to a game of musical chairs. Hard to get a dissertation done in that environment, and apparently a number of people haven't for that reason (or so they claim).
