    TEKMAN Semper Fi!

I am not sure why all these schools trying to invent the stupidity. Why's not just a "CERTIFICATE IN XYZ" instead Micro this and Micro that.

Some actually have a more appropriate name it's a MasterTrack certificate.

    What is a MasterTrack™ Certificate?
MasterTrack™ Certificates, are portions of Master’s degree programs that have been split into online modules, so one can earn a high-quality university-issued career credential at a reasonable price in a flexible, interactive format. If one is accepted to the full Master's program, the MasterTrack coursework counts towards the degree.

MicroCred is less than a certificate.

"Generally, MicroCreds have fewer courses than certificate programs and are all online. Successful completion of a MicroCred provides a digital badge where a certificate program provides you with a physical certificate. A digital badge can be shared on any digital platform, such as LinkedIn, to showcase your expertise."

I think once micro-credentials start competing with mainstream degrees in any noticeable way the same creators of these micro-credentials may kill them or reduce the offerings or raise the cost etc.
For the creators, it's an additional stream of revenue, and an opportunity for up-sale, not the other way around so they will find the right formula.
