Afck 3200 has made a grand total of six posts on Degreeinfo. All of them are in this thread and all of them are attempts to smear the President of Taiwan. First claiming that her doctorate is fake. Then, when LSE vouched for its authenticity, claiming plagiarism. (Based on half a line of text.)

He certainly seems to have a one-track agenda. The intent is to take a politician down, no matter what argument is necessary. So just keep throwing charges in hopes that something sticks.

My impression is that this is just one tiny example of a worldwide effort being conducted all over the internet in hopes of discrediting the Taiwanese President. She was never popular with Beijing since she and her party support continued protection of Taiwanese autonomy. When she spoke up in favor of the Hong Kong demonstrators, I guess that they decided to go to war against her.

I'm not sure what purpose posting these attacks on Degreeinfo serves. Perhaps it's a compliment, suggesting that somebody in some cyber-battle office thinks that Degreeinfo is an influential voice. Perhaps the purpose is simply to create an illusion of unanimity, so that any web-search on the Taiwanese President will turn up these allegations, seemingly coming from all directions, from all around the world. If everyone seems to be saying it, it must be true, right?

In Taiwan itself, it's unlikely that this kind of campaign will have a whole lot of effect on Taiwanese politics. It might push voters to support their President all the more. Sympathy for somebody under attack for believing and saying the same things they believe. I expect that most Taiwanese believe that Hong Kong's struggles for continued democracy largely discredit the "One Country, Two Systems" bullshit that Beijing is offering Taiwan.

Voters won't suddenly change their views to something radically different unless they are persuaded why they might want to. That means that Beijing needs to listen to Taiwanese voters' concerns and then speak compassionately and persuasively to address them. They aren't going to win hearts and minds just by taking internet shots at Taiwan's elected leaders for saying things that Beijing doesn't like.

    That's just stupid.

If one Taiwanese politician goes down, voters will just look for another politician that represents their deeply held views. Probably somebody that Beijing likes even less. That's how Democracy works.

Ha ha ha, eighteen words? That's the best you can do? Make that very desperate! Seriously, go tell your bosses that we all told Winnie-the-Pooh to go screw himself.

It's simple enough to look at the newspapers, etc. of Taiwan and to see that this is something that people are consistently not talking about. They do not care about this issue and are not taking the bait of this smear campaign.

Dumping's original definition at GATT is as follows! Dr Jorgen Ulff-Moller Nielsen reinterprets the meaning of dumping with his own words! Tsai Ing-wen, without the original description, quoted Dr Jorgen Ulff-Moller Nielsen's point of view (published in 2006.01) without identifying the source as pretending to be her inference in an attempt to mislead the reader. It's plagiarism!

As long as you're posting to a forum about distance education anyway, consider asking us questions about what programs of which you might be able to take advantage so you can get a better job than just reiterating propaganda for a corrupt, tyrannical regime. If we can, we'll help you do something more positive and meaningful with your life.

    Note to afck3200 . . .

I congratulate you. You have been subject to ridicule by several of our reputable members here at DI, yet you continue to plug on with your cause.

But you are ultimately what we in the States would call a single-issue voter. Or, if you were a musician, a one-hit wonder.

I would enjoy seeing you respond to some of the objections that have been thrown your way – it would be, at the least, entertaining.

In the meantime, I don’t know whether the photo you have uploaded is actually you. If it is, I’m pleased to say that you at least look halfway hot. Since I’m gay, I think I can speak with some authority on that. (Having said that, no worries – I’m way too old for you, and don’t do the daddy thing at all.)

Gee, afck3200, why don't you tell us how you really feel?

(Anyone think it's getting on time to lock this thread?)

Plagiarism would be to insert a segment of text (of any size) from someone else's work into your own without quotation marks even if the origin was noted in a specific reference.

OK, have you got anything else? Any commas out of place? Maybe something as big as an inappropriately used semi-colon? Ending a sentence with a preposition? Think hard because it might be your last chance.

Plagiarism is academic dishonesty, and so is selective quoting.

As far as page 213 is concerned, there are quotation marks, and in *16, the General Agreement is mentioned, in a brief explanation of a key element of the definition. This makes me curious to see the full text of the dissertation. Would you be willing to share it?

On a side note, I see it was first claimed the dissertation didn’t exist at all, then that it was fake and now that it’s plagiarised. What’s next? That someone else wrote it?

    [QUOTE =“ mbwa shenzi,post:528652,member:30670”] P竊是學術上的不誠實行為,選擇性報價也是如此。

    就第213頁而言,帶引號,在* 16中,在簡要定義該定義的關鍵要素時提到了總協議。這使我很好奇看到論文的全文。您願意分享嗎?

    從側面看,我看到它最初是聲稱論文根本不存在,然後是偽造的,現在是pla竊。下一步是什麼?是別人寫的嗎?[/ QUOTE]
