I'm not wishing him a Happy Birthday. NO, I'm danged well NOT! Anybody want to join me in NOT wishing him one? J.
May he soon join Hugo and Fidel. May the once prosperous countries they destroyed soon rejoin the real world.
We could sing him a Russian version of the song, sung in a macabre voice: "Happy birthday Happy birthday Another day closer to the day you die! Happy birthday."
Da, Comrade Bear. Folks at Kremlin say is Capital idea! (Is that like Capital punishment?) Here's how it goes - I think! С днем рождения С днем рождения Еще один день ближе ко дню вашей смерти! С днем рождения! I can post a pronunciation guide, if anyone wants it... J.
And here I thought it was: "Happy birthday Happy birthday Just one more year closer to death! Happy birthday!" Oh! That's the band camp version of Happy birthday!
and what happens to Gucci Grace? https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/06/africa/grace-mugabe-future-intl-afr/index.html
From the article: "The best solution for Grace now may well be perhaps to live out her days in Singapore, where Mugabe died, and far from the very people she tried to destroy. " If she has any sense at all ...
All her wealth should be confiscated and return to the Zimbabwean people. She should be left destitute like how they have left the Zimbabwean people. This guy brings out the worst in me.
a tragedy in three acts https://mg.co.za/article/2019-09-06-robert-gabriel-mugabe-1924-2019-a-tragedy-in-three-acts
Mugabe was a decidedly mixed bag. He was a leader in fighting for Southern Rhodesia's freedom. He also became corrupt and watched his relatively wealthy (and high potential) country go down the tubes. Sure, he needed to go long before he did. And he did do a lot of horrid things. But that's not the whole story. He spent 10 years in prison (by the British for "sedition."). He was a freedom fighter before he was a corrupt despot.
Free Zimbabwe was one of the first causes I was fighting for before I even know what it was. This is a terrible thing to say, but maybe the people of Rhodesia would have been better off without Mugabe. Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar was a noble prize winner before she became an ethic cleansing dictator. I am getting suspicious of leaders who are offering sunny ways. Maybe that is one of the reasons why I am not a big critic of Trump because his bite is not as bad as his bark. I would rather live under Putin than noble peace prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi.
It's one of two things that made George Washington so amazingly special. First, he walked away after winning the war against the British when he could have been crowned king. Second, when he walked away from the presidency after two terms, setting a precedent that stood until WWII.
I guess they dug him up to make sure https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/24/world/europe/franco-exhumed.html
