Abner last visited us in mid February. Anyone who is interested might want to sift through those 8,500 posts because I believe that once upon a time he provided us with means of contacting him outside of this board. I hope he's OK.
Maybe [email protected] from https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/a-little-help-for-a-little-guy.37539/#post-381304
He did, and it was recently too. I am fairly sure he either provided his full name or gave enough information I was able to find him on Facebook because he was talking about how unique his name was. I tried looking on mobile earlier with negative results. I found the thread I am talking about but it doesn't have his name in there, I must have saw it in a different thread. I am relatively sure this is him..... https://www.facebook.com/abner.ivora.5 Looking on his page Steve has him as a Facebook friend, maybe he hasn't seen this thread yet.
Don't think so. The email address wasn't Abner's. This was a site established to help fund a premature infant's special need. Abner was responding to that need. BTW I don't think his real first name is Abner - any more than mine is Johann.
Reading through his posts, and the Facebook profile I posted, strongly suggests it is his name. It is possible he has gone out of his way to convince us of a different name but strangely there are many posts where he talks about his name, and the uniquesness if it, so it would have been a planned effort to make us think it was something different.
I reached out to him. He's still worrying every day about Kim's cancer, which is understandable, but said otherwise he's okay and that he'll drop by here when he gets the chance.
I love that guy. I hope he & wife are karate chopping and arm barring their way to perfect health. Also, I wish I thought of using a fake name like Johann instead of revealing to the world that my birth name is Maniac.
I'm sure to be wrong here -- and that's a frequent occurrence. Looking at the FB intro page, I see martial arts mentioned - and Aspen U. Our Abner holds an Aspen degree and is a martial arts enthusiast. He's also mentioned his tattoos once or twice, so... My bad - 100%. I could blame whoever once mentioned another name to me, but I'm so old now I can't remember who it was. @Maniac Craniac - I know you're joking, but... I was 47 before I found out my real birth name. (Nobody told me till then that I was adopted.) Thanks to help from some distant relatives who were on the Ancestry site when I joined in in 2018, I now know who my birth-mother was - and my direct ancestors on her side, back to people born in the 1790s. (My biological father? A mystery, still.) I finally have a copy of my original birth certificate - and I've even seen the house (in England) where I was born - on Google Earth.
*crickets* Just kidding. Kizmet needs all the help she can get around here to keep things going smoothly.
Me too - and as far as addictions go, it consumes the least money - and does the least social damage - of any.
