https://www.mediaite.com/online/cnn-analyst-calls-out-radio-host-david-webb-on-air-for-white-privilege-webb-informs-her-hes-black/ Cnn fake news!
A Fox News anchor said that Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will likely run for president in 2020. Under the U.S. Constitution, she'll be too young to run for president. Fox fake news! Areva Martin is a guest analyst on CNN; she's not a journalist. She was a guest on Webb's show when she said this, so this wasn't said on CNN.
About a dozen major news websites already have articles. How embarrassing. LOL. At least she had the decency to apologize. She's a legal analyst on several news stations, so she should probably stick to that.
I think the bigger problem is the false narrative that black people are being forced to subscribe to by liberals. There is an intolerance towards black who don’t subscribed to that narrative.
Here we go... I think the bigger problem is that someone like Steve King has been in Congress since 2003, and he's only now being stripped of his committee assignments.
That’s is a problem for Steve King. You and I know he does not care too much about us. But we can avoid him because we know. The bigger problem is not knowing, or being deceived into situations which seem satisfying that are detrimental to our long term interest.
People are free to vote however they want regardless of what others think. Our votes are private. Steve King is not a TV host or political commentator. He's a government official with real power. He's, obviously, not the only person in government who thinks that way. He's just too dumb to keep his mouth shut.
But we want racists to be dumb, because that is a good thing for us. The fact, he may have limited his power because he is openly honest about his views regardless of how repugnant. The problem, in my opinion, is those with the smiles, and the false narratives that are harmful to us - institutional. I don’t say these things lightly. I have been all over the political spectrum, and like more and more blacks are concluding, we need an alternative narrative.
A perfect example of why we don’t want these kind of views to go underground. We can have fun at his expense. == But here is something more serious, a few years ago no democrats in the senate/house had any black chief of staff. Just recently cnn had no high level black executives; and blacks were paid less. ==
He's been in office since 2003. His district keeps reelecting him. His racism doesn't seem to bother them that much. Many probably vote for him because he is racist. There are other congressmen who have been caught hanging out with white nationalist groups, so King isn't the only one.
There are few black executives everywhere in business. CNN is a business, not the government. Black professionals usually lack the networks and prestigious alma maters to advance to executive positions. Since Republicans are against Affirmative Action, which is the preference for equally-qualified applicants from underrepresented groups, that's probably not going to change any time soon. Now, look at our government. The Republicans in Congress have few minorities and women. The Democratic Party saw a big increase in women and also elected the first congress members in certain minority groups i.e. Native Americans. Representation matters. The midterms also saw a good number of black Democrats elected in majority-white districts. You cannot expect minorities and women to overwhelmingly support politicians who campaign for the support of racists, sexists, and xenophobes. It's the Republican Party's own fault that they lost almost all support from black people, and now they don't even make real attempts to get the black vote. They've gone as far as being repulsive to black voters. Roy Moore didn't only lose because he likes to hit on teenage girls. Black voters in Alabama knew that he was racist.
This is more true than many people want to believe. Many people act like racism is some rare commodity that is only found by turning over rocks. The truth is that it's remarkably common. Common enough, at least, that we have a demonstrably racist President.
