It is a project research based with co-advisor from individual employer, and also requires fully funded by the employer. The current price tag is $65,000.00 per year, that is $195,000.00 for the entire program. There are two residencies per year in Baltimore, Maryland...and the program does not come with Spirit Airlines travel vouchers.

For that much it should come with a private jet.

TEKMAN, at some point you just need to find a program and stick with it. Like you, I have been a long-time member of this site and, if you listen to what everyone says on this site, you go crazy trying to figure out what program and school you want. I have been in several doctoral programs always looking for something better whether it be in terms of school reputation, cost, delivery, etc. Finally - with the help of SteveFoerster - I decided to make UC my school for good or bad. I started in 2016 in the PhD leadership program and switched to the PhD IT when it became available. Now, I finally got through all the required coursework for the PhD in IT and I start writing chapter two of my dissertation in January. Pick one for good or bad and git 'er done! ;-)

Oh, I was curious and my friend asked me to join him the information session. I agree with you; however, at this point I do not want to seek further education. I think it is time for me to learn new Internet technology trending and come up with something to make several million and retired. A Doctorate degree does not give me any advantages in my career since I have no intention to teach. With those deadline on assignments, research papers, and exams give me more stress.

Makes sense. Two master degrees are enough of an educational accomplishment. An IT trending area I find interesting is data science. Plenty of resources online to teach yourself and plenty of certificate programs to get a school name behind your training. I may pursue a data science certificate when I finish the PhD. Harvard has one that I am interested in that can be done online.

Where did you see 65k per year? I saw 25k.

Before the information session, I saw only $25K too. And I thought well, 3 years program is $75,000.00 is not bad from most prestigious school. Apparently, $25K per year is only for the administrative fees. On top of that is $40k per year for tuition.

The DEng program takes the form of a research collaboration between the student’s employer and the Whiting School of Engineering. The cost of the program consists of two components.

The first component is the programmatic cost which includes all administrative fees and tuition. This is $25,000 per year.

The second component is the doctoral-level project cost that is determined by the work carried out by the student primarily at his or her place of employment.

The tuition is covered in the 25k from my understanding. The second component seems to be referring to the material costs involved in the project. I can't imagine what kind of project, regardless of the field, would cost 40k a year.
