There is so much shade in his resignation letter.

What is the turnover rate for this misadministration?

It appears that the trigger was the sudden Syria exit, which is opposed by many Republicans - but supported by Vladimir Putin. Syria is Vlad's other big geopolitical gamble, and not he has the chance to be the biggest fish in this pond. As a bonus, US will lose all remaining credibility in the region.
In other news, Trump admin plans to lift sanctions on Rusal, now that Oleg Deripaska successfully hid his ownership stake. That'd be second obvious gift to Putin. Does Agent Orange worry about his job and try to pay off his debts as fast as possible?

And how many more people do U.S. forces have to kill in faraway lands to maintain their "credibility" there? You know I don't like Trump, but apparently even a stopped clock tell the right time twice a day.

As for Putin, if he wants that quagmire, let him have it.

U.S. forces should not be in the business on cultivating allies (eg., Kurds) and then abruptly leaving them to the wolves. I've read similar analysis from Chomski, and you guys make similar mistake of forgetting that U.S. forces are not the only, and in most cases not primary, actors killing people.

Putin will, no doubt, eventually fail in whatever he tries to achieve in Syria. The whole enterprise will falter just like their flagship air carrier so often does. But not before causing damage. Russia, as always, delenda est.
