This so far makes no sense. The explosives were apparently not primed and being intact should make them easier to trace back than if they'd exploded.

I was wondering about that- how none of them were detonated before they were found. Could it have been an oversight, could it be incompetence, or were they just sent as a prank or as a warning? Very weird.

There were misspelled words and names on the packages, so the person was probably an idiot.

My guess is that they weren't intended to explode. (They might not contain real explosives.) Their purpose may have been to create fear and alarm wherever they were received. So yes, they would certainly qualify as terrorism in that sense.

Just from the quantity of them, I'd also guess that more than one person was involved. I'm expecting arrests to come soon.

At least one was said to have been caught at a USPS site. It's been said that there were no postage marks on the stamps. We won't know much until they want us to.

A suspect is in custody. He was arrested in south Florida (Miami-Dade county) and is identified as somebody named Cesar Sayoc. Apparently he was on the radar, had a criminal history (including making bomb threats) and was known to the police.

His whole name seems to be Cesar Altieri Sayoc. He claims to be an entertainment promoter (of burlesque shows?) He apparently lived in Brooklyn until a few years ago when he moved to the Miami area. His Linkedin profile is written in broken English, but he boasts a BA apparently (from UNC Charlotte?). There's talk of veterinary medicine and of being a 'horse doctor' that I didn't quite understand. He writes: "Veterinary Medicine Graduate 2021 from High Point Univ." (I'm not sure that High Point even offers a veterinary medicine program. I saw a PharmD and a DPT, but no vet school.) There seems to be some kind of a Philippine connection.
