Don't believe it, Abner. "Organic" means NOTHING in this case. Many "organic" substances can interfere with medications or act in concert with them to create bad - or even disastrous effects. E.G St. John's Wort - commonly used by herbal believers to relieve depression. It's usually OK on its own, I'm told, provided you can control the dosage (sometimes difficult with natural medicines, but we'll not get into that.) However, combine it with mainstream pharmaceutical meds and you can have a really bad potential situation. There are hundreds of such "organic" scenarios. Organic means it's produced from naturally-occurring substances - not that it's safe in all circumstances. From hippie days, I can remember a local drug dealer who was selling (supposedly) "organic" mescaline. Maybe it improved sales - I don't know. Back then, people would get high on anything. Maybe they still do - I'm out of touch with the drug world. But I do know that "Organic" is a much-misused word. It certainly does NOT mean "safe."

PhDtobe is right. Do what your doctor says. Nothing is safe unless he /she says so. Most doctors ask patients what "natural" remedies etc. they're taking, for this very reason.

 

When it comes to agricultural products, the term "organic" typically means that it was produced (grown) without the use of artificial fertilizers and insecticides. So you could grow some organic conium maculatum (hemlock) and it would be quite dangerous indeed.

 

For sure I will be working with my doctor to see if CBD has any health benefits for me. My only research has been google, so I am cautiously optimistic.

 

You may want to ask Dr. John Bear oil. I believe he has done some extensive research in the subject, and finds its benefits beneficial.

 

Indeed it does mean exactly that, Kizmet. Any other meaning - e.g. natural substances - is usually applied so that "(weed, etc.) dealer may sell for more." A much-misused word, in certain places.

If this happens, it will be a big blow to Canada. Since marijuana has been legalized on the federal scale in Canada but not in the United States, marijuana is in the process of becoming a hot new Canadian industry, fueled by big-time investment from the US. But... if marijuana stops being a schedule 1 drug in the US, that comparative advantage might go away.

Apparently legalizing marijuana on the federal level can be done by the Executive Branch and doesn't require Congressional legislation:

Yes - sufentanil has been around about as long as fentanyl - and used in hospitals for a long time. Carfentanil is much stronger than either - 10,000 times (!) stronger than the same unit of morphine. Marijuana has been legal for 3 or 4 days here and the sky hasn't fallen yet. The only place you can buy it legally in Ontario is the Government-run website and they got 100,000 orders in 24 hours. Police haven't been raiding the illegal "dispensaries" yet. There is some call for them to do so in Toronto, but no sign of action yet. Here, 50 miles away, there seems to be a storefront selling the green stuff on just about every corner. Licensed private sellers don't come till next spring - and municipalities can "opt out" of having those. I think mine will, but no pot-smokers are worried about it. I think it will be business as usual for the illegal - let's call them "unlicensed" sellers for quite some time - maybe forever. The government has clearly messed this up - I would expect no less of them.

If they'd sold marijuana through their existing liquor stores - they could have made a ton of money. Now they won't.

 

Vivo Canada! Let’s hope that marijuana legalization can reduce the nightmare from prescription drugs death. Marijuana has been used for thousands of years, but 100 years ago prohibition, such stupidity. I do have concerns for edibles falling into the hands of children by mistake.
