Steve, you're so troublesome!! I like you though because you're from the great Commonwealth!

Should I grab my popcorn?! This is getting entertaining :emoji_joy:

Steve F, on a serious note, I applaud you for establishing a university. At one point in time, every currently accredited school was once unaccredited. On your school's website, it shows that you've applied for accreditation from the National Accreditation Board (Dominica). Have you considered any accreditors in the U.S., maybe DEAC?

Don't bother; I was already wrong to feed the troll in the first place.

I appreciate that. And no, there's no need, as Americans aren't a target market.

Ok, that makes sense. I look forward to you sharing two pieces of good news; 1. your school is accredited and, 2. you've completed your Ph.D. All the best!!

Your target is what is called the underdeveloped world, no? If so then can you say what you see as your niche and to what use your degrees will be to your students? I'm not... forgive me for this...pulling a Levicoff here but asking...forgive again...straight questions.

Forgive what? You're obviously asking because you want to share your strength by building other people up, not hide your weakness by tearing other people down.

And yes, that's the goal, specifically the growing middle class (relatively speaking) of students who aren't wealthy enough to go to university in North America or Europe as the elites do, but are academically prepared for tertiary study and aren't well-suited by existing local options. The way demographics are going, there's no way that public institutions could expand fast enough to meet the need. I wish more people were doing what we're doing.

Still hoping someone can fill me in on why a PhD in leadership is a bullshit degree? :)

Be patient, my son. Unlike some people around here, I have a life. But I do plan to address your question shortly.

Looks like the University of Liverpool has a 100% online DBA program that is AACSB accredited.

Well, scratch that one. I contacted them to inquire when they would be accepting new DBA applicants, and they informed me that they are discontinuing the program after 20 years.

Texas Southern University is apparently just awaiting approval on a DPA. That could be a good program when it hits. No ETA, but hopefully soon.

That program is dead. The school withdrew its application for the DPA approval with the THECB.

That is awful news. I wonder why they cancelled it.

Have you explored Concordia University of Chicago's Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership? It appears to be fully online. Also, the University of Arkansas offers an Ed.D. in Human Resource and Workforce Development Education. Its website states 100% online.

You'll find that most programs at a state/non-profit school will require a few residencies.

Still being patient, if you're still willing to elaborate.

Keep being patient. This is not an issue with which I'm obsessed, so I'll get around to it on my timing, not yours.

While you're waiting you might consider plugging the phrase "bullshit fields of study" into your favorite search engine and looking at the results. I think you'll get a sense of where Steve is heading if you read through a few of the pages that come up in such a search. That is, if you really want to know.

Steve was just talking out of his butt and doesn't really have an intelligent answer. You shouldn't take everything he says seriously, oftentimes he's just trying to provoke people. (For some unknown reason he takes great pleasure in that.)

I don't really want to trash your chosen subject. (As an old philosophy major, I'm often on the receiving end of other people doing that, typically in ignorance of the subject.) But I am a bit inclined to agree with Steve. I'm a little skeptical whether leadership is really an academic subject that professors can teach. Certainly not to the point where it can replace actual practical management experience in an organization and knowledge of how that organization works and the challenges it faces.

I looked at a couple of programs and their course descriptions looked exceedingly mushy, filled with things like 'Leadership Theory' (which if it's anything like 'management theory' is probably a buzz-word laden mess) along with classes seemingly designed to appeal to activists.

But I'm not familiar enough with the subject to say anything with certainty and might be totally wrong.
