"Entitlements" and "hand-outs" are meaningless smears to bash safety-net programs, used by those who can't attack these on merits.

I love the security my OHIP card provides me; I even love it now when it's probably redundant given the security my public sector unionized job provides me. Is it "entitlement"? You decide.

And the same idiots who bash the safety net programs cheer for tax cuts for the wealthy and corporate hand outs! Those are the real "Entitlement" programs. Good for you, keep your job nice and safe, work union, you live better. I worked union for 25 years, and I continue to reap the benefits to this day!

And no, it is not entitlement in your case, it is making wise decisions on your part.

Black Republicans are the modern equivalent of run-away slaves. Blacks should realize that they are bought and paid-for.

Because the Democrats did do good work during the civil rights movement. Blacks haven't forgotten. Because the Democrats are the party of the welfare state. They are constantly offering free-stuff. And because for decades, the Democrats have been telling blacks that any problems they happen to face in their personal lives aren't things that they can address with their own behavior, but rather are somebody else's fault. For obvious historical reasons black Americans already had a victim-mentality. Democrats have played on it like virtuosos, rather than helping black Americans escape from it.

Social pressure and ostracism are powerful things. Look at what happens to white Republicans out on the street in deep blue cities like DC. For blacks, it might be even worse. So it can often be most prudent for Republicans to maintain a low-profile and to stay in the closet.

There are more and more prominent black Republicans though, so it isn't 100% effective.

Don't get me wrong. I am Canadian and I do love my entitlements. Canadians are more honest about it. Americans, on the other hand, are different. They will huff and puff about entitlements because it is socialism, but always find ways to defend the entitlements that benefit them. It is always about the other people entitlements.

Black people calling black people token negroes is not racist. What is racist is non-black people calling black Democrats slaves.

The saddest thing in all of this is that Kanye West, who has bipolar disorder and is currently showing symptoms, is being exploited by the president in an attempt to get the black vote.

Kanye West is not a fine person. Like most mainstream rappers, his language about women is abhorrent. Most of the white people "defending" Kanye haven't even listened to his discography.

The top 10% in this country pay 70% of all federal income taxes, donate hundreds of billions of dollars to charity every year and are responsible for enterprises that pay millions of American's paychecks.

    Evil!

[edit] I decided to delete part of this post because I re-read it and didn't like either the tone nor the redundancy of it. If you still want to read how badly I screwed up, you can read the full text in sanantone's reply below.

That's why tax cuts for middle class families are just welfare payments, and more are being proposed. I don't really have much of an issue with it, but call it what it is. It's income redistribution.

Taxation is income distribution. Reduced taxation is reduced distribution.

Unless you believe we are the property of the state.

I find the issue of welfare, taxation, income redistribution etc. to be extremely complex from all sides: ethical, economic, national security, humanitarian and the like. I don't claim to have even half a clue what is a good policy, nor what is inherently right or wrong. I do hate when the issue is oversimplified in a finger pointing game- when one side blames the poor for not having enough money, and the other side blames the rich for not giving them enough money.

When you receive thousands more than what you paid in, it's welfare.

The more our economy becomes information technology based, the more I wonder how sustainable it can be without income redistribution of some sort. When machines can replace almost every laborer at a fraction of the cost and when AI starts to replace people that we once thought were irreplaceable (including, it makes me sad to say, probably a lot of interpreting and translating jobs) at a fraction of the cost, what in the world can the average person do to stay relevant in a market economy?

I'm not even talking about a future where all the machines have taken over (such visions have been painted in detail by many others, some utopian, some dystopian), I mean the world we currently live in, as we continue moving on into an age where not as much needs a human touch to finish it off.

Where is that the case among taxpayers? How can a tax cut be so?

Most Americans already don't pay a federal income tax. So, when politicians propose more credits and deductions on top of rate cuts, it leads to people getting bigger tax refunds. Those refunds just don't consist of what people paid in; they're getting back more than what they paid in. That money comes from the minority who do pay an income tax.

Oh, and when black people have a choice between a guy who attends racist conferences/accepts campaign money from someone who called Obama the n-word and Andrew Gillum, of course they're going to vote for Gillum. There's a reason why DeSantis has such strong support from white supremacists.

I apologize for the triple post, but I thought everyone should know that the woman who called Kanye a token negro IS a black Republican. She has always been a Republican. Kanye is not a Republican. He said that he would have voted for Trump if he had voted, but he didn't. In the meantime, Kanye is supporting the Democratic mayoral candidate in Chicago.

Tara Setmayer is a real life Republican, and she was a Republican when Trump was a Democrat. Kanye West is just a Trump cultist.

Well, it is cool that he is not in anyone camp. But he is still the same guy that cnn made fun of, because they thought he was in trump’s camp.

Yes, a black Republican and a black Democrat pointed out that he was rambling and being used by a man who has made many racist comments. Remember when Trump said, "My African American over there?" He's looking for a token black person because the Republican Party can't survive on only white votes forever.
