    The new Army dress uniform looks like Civil War costumery to me.

    I still literally think of that color as "Army green". I have no idea why they switched away from it. But I suppose it doesn't concern me.

    Aside from the color change the only real difference I see is in the epaulettes. I'm not sure why this is an improvement but, like Steve, I don't have to wear them so I've got no issue with it either way.

    That picture doesn't capture what I mean. If I see a better picture, I'll post it.

    Or maybe you had to be there. The older Army dress greens were dressy enough but humble, as was the Army in general.
