I just noted that each poster's profile includes a number of Trophy Points, from 1 to nearly 200. An initial search does not reveal to me what these are. How many Trophy Points before one gets an actual trophy?

Thank you, M.C. I have bestowed my first-ever "Like" upon your head. May you gain many more, and a handsome trophy to add to your trophy room.

1000 posts is an "addiction"? Maybe it's for the best that post count isn't displayed anymore? o_O

You just had to post that, right? You couldn't help yourself? ;)

I searched for "Trophy Points" and got here! I'm still confused a bit on what the Trophy Points are used for... Further to that, I noticed different titles under each person's alias... how do you move up a level? From say, a newbie to Member to Active Member to whatever else? What's the threshold for those?

Looks like under the current system 113 points is as far as you can get. That's the cumulative total for all awards and you need 1000+ posts and 500 likes to get that far. The breakdown is here. https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?help/trophies

No more awards past that point, although likes and posts still accumulate. Likes and trophy points were introduced a few years ago with a forum update, IIRC. Posts are counted right back to the beginning days, I'm pretty sure.

How do you move up a level? Keep posting. Try to make it likeable. Numbers? I dunno. I think you go up the ladder when your trophy points add up to a certain level. 63 and 113 (the max) might be the significant levels. I'm not sure.

Titles are automatically controlled under the new system. Before that, with moderator consent, there were some juicy ones - like Distinguished Senior Moderator. We might have even had a Grand Inquisitor and a Lord High Executioner -- not sure.

The sad thing here is that if someone had asked me this morning what a trophy point was, I'd have no idea what they were talking about. Thank you, 2018 Maniac for educating 2022 Maniac.

See you all again in four years when I need to find out what 2022 Maniac had to say about the matter.

Can "Trophy Points" be accumulated for credit toward a"Trophy Wife"?

I have one of those. Don't tell her that though, she thinks she got the better end of the deal.

I started to laugh at this, but then one has to wonder... how would most DI forum members define a "Trophy Wife"? I seriously suspect it might be different from the mainstream definition. Or, is that wishful thinking by the nature of this forum?
