Look at the sheer number of senior FBI and DOJ officials that have been FIRED since President Trump took office:
    1. James BakerFIRED (MSM falsely reported that he resigned)
    2. Lisa Page – FIRED (MSM falsely reported that she resigned)
    3. Mike Kortan, FBI assistant director for public affairs – FIRED
    4. Josh Campbell, special assistant to James Comey – FIRED
    5. David Laufman, chief of the Justice Dept.’s counterintelligence – FIRED
    6. John Carlin, assistant attorney general (DOJ) – FIRED
    7. Sally Yates, deputy attorney general – FIRED
    8. Mary McCord, acting assistant attorney general (DOJ head) – FIRED
    9. Bruce Ohr, associate deputy AG (acting DOJ head) – REMOVED (but cooperating)
    10. Rachel Brand, associate attorney general (#3 behind AG Rosenstein) – FIRED
Coincidence? There is a plan. This is just the tip of the spear. It will be plunged deep into the beast. :)

You're saying that like it makes your guy look good.

    But it doesn't.

Oh come on, do you really expect anyone to pretend that everything you post on Trump is anything less than hagiographic?

In my opinion there should have been a lot more.

During the Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch years the DOJ was weaponized and turned into the enforcement arm of the Democratic Party. I personally think that we are at one of the most dangerous points in the country's history. If things continue in the direction they've been headed, we will have a Vladimir Putin style arrangement, an ostensible democracy where the country's security agencies make certain that only their friends can rise to power.

Despite Trump's unexpected election, it hasn't really ended. They seem to believe that they are an extra-Constitutional fourth branch of government, a Police branch not answerable to the Executive or the Legislative branches. It isn't clear whether they would even honor a Judicial branch order, if they disagreed with it. If I was a congressman questioning Rod Rosenstein in his recent House testimony, I'd simply have asked him, "Do you believe that you have a boss? Are you answerable to anyone? Do you believe that anyone else in government is in the legitimate position to give you orders? If so, who?" Presumably not the President (who they are investigating). Presumably not Congress (whose requests for documents they slow-walk or ignore). Certainly not Jeff Sessions.

It's not a healthy situation when the country's law enforcement arm appears to be increasingly out of control.

General rule of thumb: Regardless of their individual ideology, people who type on forums in multiple colors (also known as "color masturbation") need to get a life.

Heirophant, as usual, that's a very insightful and thought provoking post. And true.

"Attorney General Eric Holder brushed off a question Thursday about when he might leave the administration. Instead, the top lawman professed his allegiance to President Barack Obama.

"I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, there’s still work to be done. I’m still the President’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy. So we’ll see," Holder said in an interview on the Tom Joyner radio show."

But the DOJ is now supposed to be independent from the POTUS.

Well, Russian justice system certainly has a boss - Vladimir Putin, which is a situation Trump visibly lusts for. I don't think your argument is a coherent one, here. Or all that sincere.

Autocrats like Putin, socialist, fascists...want and need big government to control the people. Trump would reduce government control of the people.

Incompetent employees should be fired. Polical firing, or forced resignations is another thing. I am not saying the above is political. The US is a two-party system, so the other party is eventually going to get a crack at do the same thing. You will think it should be everyone best interest to take politics out of the Justice and court system. There is nothing here to celebrate.

Phdtobe, the sheer number of senior-level executive-heads that are fired is "shock and awe" (and not celebratory). It demonstrates that the corruption is at the top -- and not in the rank and file members who are humping cases in the trenches. The problem is at the top (executive level) of the justice system. The top two FBI heads were both fired and may be criminally arrested and incarcerated. That says a lot.

Yeah, but what? Most likely theory is the man doing the firing and his closest accomplices are incompetent crooks, or just bad at the job. This, or joining the Loony Left in dismissing American law enforcement as hopelessly corrupt - which seems to be the position of both Trump and the likes of Louis Farrakhan. Unbelievable.

Stanislav, the United States justice system will do very well. The Constitution is intact! :)

Well not if you are black or a minority.
Remembered many people were not considered human at a point in time. A constitution is a living document - that's why there are amendments

Phdtobe, unfortunately, people with black skin (in Africa) were notorious for enslaving other blacks for hundreds of years. They enslaved each other and it was a "blacks enslaving blacks industry." Why? Black slave traders did it for money. And then later, the Europeans eventually discovered that the blacks had a preexisting and thriving slave-trading-business, so the Europeans imported black slaves to work in the New World. Forced slavery is immoral and it has brought nothing but problems to the United States because God designed men to be free, in His own image, just as He is free. Man sees skin color, but God sees and judges the heart. As long as men use skin color as a basis for judgement, then there will remain cultural problems. People of all skin colors are prejudiced. Blacks are not the only people who are prejudiced. Nor whites, et al. The devil exploits prejudice to divide, conquer and destroy humanity.

What if an agency is hugely politicized already? Throughout the Holder and Lynch years, the DOJ was always filing "Justice Department Lawsuits" to further this or that policy goal of the Democratic Party. (That's why I called the DOJ "the enforcement arm of the Democratic Party".)

But the thing that worries me the most is use of the police powers of the state to influence and potentially even to determine election outcomes.

What I'd like to see is a professional and non-political federal bureaucracy. Government offices, officers and employees that can function just as well regardless of which party wins elections. But achieving that is going to be difficult when the bulk of top management and much of the rank-and-file are Democratic public employees and Democratic political appointees. There's going to be tremendous bias built-in.

Things would be much healthier if government employees actually resembled the country that they seek to govern. There's lots of concern about that when it comes to increasing the number of women and minorities in government. But maybe what we really need are more Republicans in DC. (Not the familiar swamp-creatures like McConnell, McCain and (maybe) Sessions either, or all the lower-level workers recruited from 'inside the beltway', but with plenty of Conservatives recruited from Huntsville, Omaha or Boise mixed in there too.)

If the occupants of government office buildings were truly reflective of multiple points of view, then any nasty little partisan conspiracies to subvert democratic process would quickly be picked up on by the other side and management/Congress/the press alerted as need be.
