WNMU has been a popular topic here for awhile, and with good reason, it's an RA state university with a good selection of DL programs at very reasonable cost. One of the most popular programs here is the M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies, where you can choose 2 or 3 different concentration areas, from a good selection of academic disciplines.

Now, WNMU is offering 18-hour graduate certificates (18 hours being the generally accepted number of semester credits to teach a subject at the undergraduate level) in the same study areas as offered for the M.A.I.S. degree; you can complete a certificate in one area and call it a day, or go on to complete an additional 18 hours in a second area of study, and get the full Master's degree.

A great opportunity for anyone looking to add a college teaching credential in a new subject area, at a bargain price.

3 credit hours = $750 for out of state online grad students. Not bad!

I was just looking at WMNU yesterday and wondering why they haven't been mentioned much on the board lately. I was surprised to learn that they offer an MBA online now.

Too bad that ended after the Summer 2017 semester. The tuition for Fall 17 and Spring 18 is $939.42 (resident) and $992.31 (non-resident).

Their summer tuition is discounted every year. If you have patience, you get your entire degree at the discounted rate if you only take 2 courses per summer over the course of 6 years.

That's a lot of patience. Lamar University's graduate tuition rate is $275 and they recently restructured their master's in criminal justice to 30 credits, a reduction from 36 credits. Instead of paying $9, 900 and taking 15 months to complete, the program can now be completed in 12 months for $8, 250.

WNMU doesn't have a graduate CJ degree, it's only offered as a concentration in the M.A.I.S. program, or as a graduate certificate.

I started this thread mostly for people who are looking to hit the "magic number" (18) in regards to graduate semester hours to teach at the college level, and WNMU offers this in several fields that are asked about here; in addition to Criminal Justice, there is History, Political Science, Business, Education, Psychology, and more.

My bad.. didn't mean to "hijack" your thread. I thought WNMU offered a master's in CJ.

No worries, we just get inquires sometimes about being able to teach in disciplines other than someone's graduate degree, and I think this is a great opportunity.

FINALLY! I love their little 18 credit & 18 credit master's options but have no desire to do another masters. This is great!
