Rush Limbaugh leaves Florida after blasting Hurricane Irma coverage - Business Insider He must be dipping in to the oxycodone again!
I'm not at all a fan of Rush Limbaugh, but read what he said "It might not be legally possible to do the show", which to me implies a mandatory evacuation order. If that's the case, is he supposed to defy an evacuation order? As I said, I don't like the guy, but this stinks to high heaven of a clickbait headline with a misleading story attached.
I don't know anything about criticizing the hurricane coverage but I've heard about a thousand officials telling anyone who will listen that they should evacuate. If I had a place to go then I would just go. Maybe find a hotel in Atlanta for a few days.
No. What's he's supposed to do is not encourage people to ignore advice to evacuate in the first place. I don't trust everything government officials say either, but when a major hurricane is coming and you're in a low-lying area, GTFO. After what he said, it's fair to point out that he had to leave, whether it was mandatory or not.
I knew this had to be a crock so I looked it up: https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2017/09/05/my-analysis-of-the-hurricane-irma-panic/ This is what they dishonestly responded to five days ago.
Well, he's right about tap water, people should just fill carboys with it before a potential disruption of service rather than stock up on bottled water. But he's dead wrong that hurricanes are only dangerous within thirty miles of the eyewall, or that hurricane warnings are "politicized". Sure, news media and government officials err on the side of caution, and they're right to do so. If they're wrong because they've overestimated the danger, people are inconvenienced. If they're wrong because they've underestimated the danger, people die.
He didn't say that. Politicized in the sense of not letting a crisis go to waste in pushing the AGW farce. I hold no brief for radio personalities but also none for lies.
It would be more than fair to simply mention it, in the correct context (he had to leave), I'm just really sick of these cheap clickbait headlines that get you to a crappy story that's so ridiculously slanted, it were capsize if it were a ship.
