I drive a 21 year old Miata. It's fun, gets good mileage, is easy to repair (which even now it rarely needs), and it doesn't require strip mining for the rare earth elements required for today's "environmentally friendly" vehicles.

    Girly car. ;-)

I've liked the idea of a plug-in hybrid (two independent 'fuel' sources) but the fact of it comes with caveats.

I like Miatas. Cool car, very sporty.

I like Miatas too. They remind me of those old 50's and 60's British sports cars.

Yes, in the sense that girls seem to like it.

But without the Prince of Darkness.

Yes - "Lucas, Prince of Darkness," maker of electrical components. I know -- my first car was a bug-eyed Austin Healey Sprite. Not quite the worst British car ever - that's a VERY l-o-n-g list. But close. Imitation British cars, like the Japanese-origin Miata are far better. In a completely different league.

I hear there's a new Mazda based Fiat 124 nowadays. Now THAT would be orders of magnitude more reliable than the original!

I like the three-way headlight switch: Dim, Flicker, Off.
