Where can I go to get a basic level of knowledge on accounting, economics and statistics without taking actual classes? Are there any good sites or programs that have online modules to cover what would be in a typical entry level college class? I'm going into the WGU online MBA program but my liberal arts BA degree has given me no background or experience in those areas. And WGU has no preparatory program available for getting up to speed. I'm pretty sure I'm going to struggle unless I do something to fill in the gaps myself. Thanks for any recommendations you all may have!
I think Kizmet means Coursera. There's also Khan Academy, LearnersTV.com, Learner.org, and Modern States. Modern States videos are aligned with CLEPs.
smart.ly I like smart.ly.com. It is an unaccredited MBA program in itself, but 20 to 30 percent of the program is free and open to anyone to earn certificates in specific areas. I have completed about 20 percent and it has been very useful to me.
I'd like to see someone go through Smart.ly before taking an actual MBA program and see how well they line up. I'd gladly take 6-8 months to go through Smartly before jumping into an MBA if I would learn the material ahead of time.
