    Hello,

As I am from Europe, I would need to pass by one of the NACES evaluators to evaluate my current diploma´s.

I noticed on some forums that they find ECE.org very conservative.
Of course, my aim is to find a evaluator that "gives" the best evaluation in my favor.
This because my main degree, which is a Higher technical diploma, is more then 20 years old and that school doesn´t exist, and so getting my transcript for that degree is an issue.

Does someone have experiences with the other NACES members? Because I am afraid that they would evaluate it as a non-credit vocational training.

So the one I would need is the one that will be the most flexible. Could a rush service make this even more favorable?

Hope someone could give some good tips!

Your first step is to find which NACES member service will be accepted by the institution you want to attend. Some colleges and Universities have a list of approved services.
I remember one called only accepted ECE for degrees from one range of countries and Spartan for degrees from Israel and some other countries.

A close friend of my had 3 years FT study certificate level 1, 2 and final 3 in Electronics.
the studies had multiple subjects and labs etc.
But they didn't get evaluated because they are vocational.

Also, the service I used requires the original diploma and transcripts to be sent.
All my original documents were returned to me.
What is the name of the institution and the name of the diploma program?

    Hello Lerner,
I had a associate degree in Telematics. Problem I have is that the institute doesn't exist anymore and there are almost no records of this year because it was in 2001 and the schools over here only have the obligation to keep your record for 10 years.
So I can prove that I pasted it, but I can't present a transcript. But I could give them the program.

So what I look for now is a way to have my associate to be translated in those amount of credit of an associate degree, which are 60 degrees in the US.
Therefore I am looking for the most "generous" NACES member. So that I could apply for one of the Big Threes.

    Regards,
    Tom

I don't know if this will help but you might find your school and then program in the Wayback Machine.

This is the search for telematics schools europe:Wayback Machine

Thank you very much, I knew about this site, but I forgot about it. But this won't still give me a transcript though.
    But thanks for the help.

So, someone have a idea which of following members are the "most generous"?

Regardless of the provider, I'll be fascinated to hear how you get a transcript evaluation without supplying a transcript.

    Hello Steve,

Well, certain colleges don't always exist forever. The regional college where I finished my studie 25 year ago, didn't digitize everything. Many things where done on paper. So today, where the only proof you have is a diploma and a leaflet that describes the content of that degree. Then it is up to the evaluator his experience to find the equivalent in the US. My case is from a European school. But I can imagine that there other parts in the world that make it pretty difficult for the evaluator to "use their professional know-how" to find the right equivalent.

So, like this it is in the best interest of the future student to go to an evaluator who makes the best profitable "guess", which results in more credits.

Does anyone have experiences with below evaluators?:

    • Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute (ACEI)
    • Education Evaluators International (EEI)
    • Educational Perspectives
    • Education Records Evaluation Service (ERES)
    • Foundation for International Services (FIS)
    • SpanTran Evaluation Services

It's true. Sometimes schools close but, in the US, they are required to transfer their records somewhere, usually to another school, so that people have access to records. I can't imagine this being any different in Europe. If you tell us the school's name we could probably track them down.

Yes you are right, but many colleges are legally obligated to keep the documents for 10 years. In my case, the school have been closed and the school has been demolished. Now there is a new building there but they don't have my documents, as they are not obliged to keep the documents for more then 10 years.
They can only confirm that I have passed the degree.

Was your diploma accredited by an outside organisation? You don't say what country you're in, but in the UK degrees are awarded directly by Universities but all other recognised qualifications, such as A levels, vocational courses and academic diplomas are accredited by orgs such as BTEC, City & Guilds, AQA, CIE etc. When you need an official transcript (or copy certificate in case of loss) you need to go directly to the accreditation organisation not the college you studied at.

My college was in Belgium. And I'll look around for this accreditation organisation. Thanks for the tip.
