If we could find out the location we could send it to ICE and they could round them all up. My mother was an immigrant, she waited a long time to come here. She worked herself to death to do it legally....I blame these kids parents for this, but we have laws for a reason.

What a ridiculous platitude. Go through the U.S. Code and tell me that the reason isn't usually that someone with connections wanted to benefit at everyone else's expense. What's the fantastic reason for deporting kids who are obviously as culturally American as you are back to some country they don't even recognize and where they may not even speak the language?

Well said Steve. I couldn't have said it better. I hate to bring up religion but I thought Christians were supposed to be welcoming and compassionate to others.

Where do we draw the line? Should we just throw our hands in the air and allow everyone in who wants to come?

Europe is finding out the hard way what happens when you allow unchecked immigration.

I may be truly maturing with age, or is that just being a grandparent. Well I am mellowing -
lose-lose arguments - no winners in this one - just hard feelings.

You seriously can't tell the difference between a kid who's been here since infancy and is 100% Americanized, and adult refugees fleeing a war?

In your case, it might be either, or both. But I've been called "Grandpa" for 19 years ... and nobody has ever described me as "mature."

What does the Lou Reed song Dirty Boulevard song have to say about that?

I'm asking, where do we draw the line?

Once you start moving the goalposts, you've started down a slippery and dangerous slope.

I don't hate anyone, but I do hate PC terminology. Call them what they are.

Yes, illegal is what they are but it's not all that they are. If you read that story and all you came away with was "illegal" then I'd say it was a fairly shallow and heartless reading.

Well, we are waiting for some legislation to come out of the Congress/ White House to address that very issue. I guess they must be busy with something else.

You can't immigrate legally by "waiting", at least not anymore... I really wish all the people who advise others to "go to the back of the line" had a clue... there's no line. Spoken like someone who always obeyed U. S. immigration law to the letter.
