Pg 4 or 5 has the Phd at the 1333us or 2000000 ugx per trimester. However, if you do the conversion, 2m ugx is > 600us. 600us per trimester is not that bad. The us$ has gotten stronger since the fee schedule was listed.

Pan Africa Christian University is offering two doctorates online. According to info received, a Phd in Organizations Behavior, and doctorate in marriage family therapy for about 11k$us.

I didn't do an exhaustive search but I didn't see any reference to distance learning on this site.

I did. Here it is: Open Distance & e-Learning

The Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership is the only doctoral program available by distance. It seems there is a Canadian connection:

"The university is owned and managed by robust partnership of three stakeholders: Christ Is The Answer Ministries (CITAM), the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC), and the Pentecostal Assemblies of God – Kenya (PAG)."

The school received its charter as a Private University in Kenya, in 2008. I don't know whether or not the degrees of Kenyan private Universities have the same standing as those of the country's mainstream universities. Maybe an expert could enlighten us.

Well, here we have it, straight from the Parliament of Kenya: What is a "recognized" University in Kenya? Any university with a Government Charter.

    https://books.google.ca/books?id=zKRdvAsp-bkC&pg=PT4&lpg=PT4&dq=if+there+was+a+difference+in+standing+between+a+public+vs.+private+Kenyan+university+degree.&source=bl&ots=vcqCEl6gur&sig=VDbU7htVTchEze_y8OZVSUYOxzw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiv9PyB083WAhVMz2MKHaCwCMkQ6AEIOjAD#v=onepage&q=if%20there%20was%20a%20difference%20in%20standing%20between%20a%20public%20vs.%20private%20Kenyan%20university%20degree.&f=false

Am I to conclude there are no "degrees of recognition," then? More and more, I feel I may be looking for something that isn't there. A familiar feeling...

I'm glad that we keep getting addition to this thread. To me it feels like some real nuggets are out there. Maybe not the right school for many but perhaps a golden opportunity for a few.

This is the fun part of the post - PACU rankings
    4ICU:
    Kenya 39
    World 10325

    Webtronic:
    Kenya 37
    World 14007

PACU has a higher ranking than the University of Nairobi. 128 degree-granting institutions in Kenya.

What I like most - Anglophone, Francophone & Lusophone school. Lusophone = Portuguese, not a communication device. Think Angola.

The 4 degree programs are all Bachelors, aimed solely at African teachers and aspiring teachers. Very limited selection of certificates: Renewable energy, food security, Intro to Peace Management and Conflict Resolution. Very significant topics for African students - or people who want to work / help out there.

I'm pretty sure it's real - it started in Washington as a World Bank project and grew from there into a multi-government-sanctioned org. 63,000 grads at all levels (cert and degree) doesn't sound the least bit excessive for a multi-country school that's been around for 20 years. Not for me, though.

If they'd run some courses in African music or languages, maybe I'd change my mind...
