Admin & tech contacts etc. for this school appear to have Indian connections. Odd...

Further digging. It is a FAKE!

..and this blurb sort-of explains the odd Indian connection:

"NB: After much consideration, it was decided that from 1 January 2017, the INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (SA), and all schools in this consortium, will have nothing to do and won’t take any responsibility for whatever is done under the banner of New World Mission Dunamis by a Group out of India who illegally confiscated that name."

A school with no standing gets hijacked illegally. What a tragedy.

Note. Wiki on Dunamis: Dunamis (Ancient Greek: δύναμις) is the philosophical concept of potentiality and actuality.
From Johann: Also spelled dynamis in English letters. Basic everyday meaning: power; cf. dynamo, dynamite, dynamic etc.

    Not quite! Not even close!

    (1) The full-semester (60) credits fee for Grad degrees is 13,500 pula. That's $1306 US. per semester. 225 pula per credit - same thing.
    (2) The fee for undergrad degrees is 12,000 pula per 60-credit semester, or 200 pula per credit. That's $1161 US. per semester.
    (3) At 480 credits, a business bachelor's degree costs 8 times that (and takes 4 1/2 years if full-time). Either way, the tab is $9,288 US.
    (4) A Master's degree is 4 semesters - 240 credits. That costs 4 x 1306 = $5,224. This is WAY more than you said!

By American measurements, $9K for a Bachelor's isn't bad. About $75 per American-style credit. But this one is from Botswana, not Boise. So, for me anyway, the deal's off.

I'm a big fan of UNISA for a number of reasons. Cost, reputation, breadth of subject choice, range of degree levels to name a few. I am less knowledgeable of most of the other schools in this thread, even the ones whose websites I've visited but when it comes to ones like the one above I think I'd either 1) stick with UNISA or 2) try UPeople

My error, that is only the cost of a semester..

You are mostly right. However Unisa is somewhat selective. So it may be beneficial to have the information of the lessor known universities for the people who may interested in them, or for the people who were not admitted at Unisa.

You (and others) have done a good job of adding schools to the list. I would not be at all surprised to find there are more out there.

I looked at the websites of several of these schools, and found them maddening if not impossible to navigate. If you're able to find anything at all about DL programs, you're lucky to see the goals and visions listed, with absolutely no information about what programs are even offered, never mind the requirements, fees, or how to apply.

I'm wondering how many prospective students they've lost and will continue to lose when they just throw up their hands and give up?

True. I hope their offerings don't include web-design! I'm always amazed when these schools offer bachelor's and master's programs in Computer Science, yet have such exasperating web-presences. At the very least, they should have had help from home-grown talent among faculty etc.

"They did," you say? Uh-oh!

Well it could be like Thunderbird, one of the best business schools during its era, but, the school itself was horrible of running itself as a business. My guess that same demarcation will be presented in Africa - that what is being taught in the classroom does not necessarily translate to the said operations.

"Do as we say, not as we do." Never a confidence-builder. It will cost them. These days, even the crooks have good websites.

Kampala International University offers distance/ online Phd in every of its graduate programs. Accreditation is fine. The trimester cost for the Phd looks like $us3000.

Programs – College Of Education , Open, Distance & E-Learning
