ROU may be the biggest flim since flam but I like the idea of it. Or I might like the idea if I knew just what they do. What I like is finding a way to award credit for courses taken online, gratis.

Okay I guess I am back. ROU was not on the list. It was posted here because of similar info.

Fair enough. I think ROU copies and pastes well. Or searches and replaces well. Or both. That's one way of becoming different. Assume someone else's difference.

KeMU Digital Campus – The future is here
For the methodists on DI, Kenya Methodist university has a digital campus. It looks it is all undergraduates for elearning. But as you know there are always exceptions.

Lots of statements about "state-of-the-art," etc. but site is not complete - still has placeholder images, etc. Very little detail re: what's on offer - course listings etc. Site looks like they're still in the very early stages of Internet instruction development. At this stage, I have to award them an "incomplete." Like Scotty in Star Trek, they "need more time."

Stop the Western "aid," that is.

I have no idea who Karen Selick is and I don't care.

Edit: I think I like this Karen Selick. I'll bookmark her site to have something to torment Johann and Stanislav.

Many people have been saying that for a long time - handouts do not help the people. Investment do help - but it can't be backroom deals with the ruling class.

Relatedly, I'd love to see everyday people in low income countries see the opulent lifestyle of the people who work at the World Bank, IADB, IMF, and similar institutions in Washington, D.C. Their salaries are high even for this area, like an acquaintance who's an economist at the World Bank who is paid $200K per annum to do... well, not much, from what I can see.

They're not development institutions, they're control mechanisms. Liquidate them all!

I can recall aid to undeveloped countries being panned back as far as the 1950s. One person, perhaps 'liberal,' would score corporations for dumping unsuitable product at taxpayer expense. Another, perhaps 'conservative,' would decry the thwarting of indigenous business development.

I won't hold dogmatically to political beliefs when it comes to giving aid after some catastrophic event but ongoing aid-that-isn't can be crippling to lesser developed peoples.

Fair enough on the catastrophic event part, but even that can go awry, e.g., Red Cross Built Exactly 6 Homes For Haiti With Nearly Half A Billion Dollars In Donations | HuffPost

The university of Nairobi is open to as many candidates the meet its admission criteria for graduate work by distance learning. Uonbi is one of those schools I don't mine having on my resume.

As a way of ensuring that the search for knowledge is availed to as many applicants as meet our admission requirements, the mode of study is flexible so that a student can undertake his/her studies on a full-time, part-time basis or by distance learning.
