Sent off an email to get more info. Will post here if I hear back. International students pay 20 per cent more fees. However the fees are really, really low.

Some of the DL programs I looked at are actually part time DL.
So travel to campus in Nairobi will be required.

Actually I misread the mode of delivery / study.

They offer traditional on campus, part time , and DL.
    So student has a choice.
The DL platform is available 24x7.

    Student Fees

Got a response from these nice people. Fees are 4651 KSR per unit. Ma in Education is 45 units so, with other fees and project fees comes to about 2700 USD.

Not bad. Now as to accreditation ! I am not sure.

Let's assume that accreditation checks out OK. The next question might be, Why would someone choose this school over any other?

Let me take a shot at it.Everything else being equal, like smart professors, modern texts, etc, then it will be because it is accredited education at a reasonable cost.

Personally I'd like to see someone crack the code on some of these non-US universities. Their names come up periodically but we never hear of anyone actually following through with applications, transcripts, getting admitted, enrolling, graduating, etc. I've thought of doing it myself, just to see if it could be done. The main reason I haven't is because, like a dog chasing a car, I'm not sure what I'd do if I ever actually caught it.

Years ago, I conspired with another DegreeInfo regular on an undercover operation where I applied to Kennedy-Western University for their Ph.D. program in Business, under an assumed name, with Photo Shopped transcripts and ID card. I claimed a B.S.B.A degree from Columbia State (notorious diploma mill) and a M.B.A. from the University of Wickenden in the UK (fabricated by me, using the last name of one of my Brit copper friends). "I" was accepted, and was then pestered for months to enroll (more like pay the enrollment fee) on the shadow Yahoo email account I created for the purpose.

But, like Kizmet said, once the acceptance email was received, it was "Okay, now what do we do?", Neither of us wanted to actually fork over the tuition money to prove it was a sham, so the investigation, such as it was, ended there.

It is, and the link posted by b4cz28 to the Commission for University Education website is of course the correct one. In addition to being properly accredited, Africa Nazarene University has the additional advantage of not being located in the centre of Nairobi, and right next to Nairobi National Park. Sure, it's not anything like Masai Mara or Tsavo West but it's still a nice place to visit if you're interested in East African wildlife.
