Apparently this will now be the narrative; whenever the media tries yet another hit piece on the President, and it blows up in their faces, they'll claim that it was planted by the President himself. The mainstream media have become caricatures of themselves; once proud journalists reduced to this. Pathetic. That's not strong enough of a word, but it will have to do for now. Pathetic.
It won't matter much, people want to see the real tax returns. This is just a minor distraction. And no, not just reporters want to see them.
Is there anything on anyone's tax returns that could honestly prove to be a major controversy? If there was anything illegal going on, you can bet some government agency or another would have found out about it during his candidacy. At worst, we might find out that he sometimes pays a lower tax rate than others. Even if he somehow paid 0% in taxes, but did it legally, it should still not be a major story. Why would anyone ever deliberately pay more taxes than they are required? It's not charity. It's taxes. If anyone is unhappy with his tax return, they should attack the law, not the man who uses the law to his advantage. I just want to make a little side note here that I find Donald Trump to be absolutely despicable. I've said that before, but I don't think it comes of in many of my posts. I marvel at how often I find myself defending him, not because I like him, but because the media attacks against him get pretty ridiculous at times.
Well, people in The Resistance™ say they do, because it's part of booing the other team. I'm not convinced people in the middle really care about that particular issue.
I think people are concerned with his dealings with Russia, and the sources (ties) of his income. The two pages (1040 - there should be hundreds of pages showing sources of income and they are missing) don't show that. People want to see all the tax returns to see if any of his future tax policies he promotes might be conflicts of interest. There is a reason Presidents have traditionally provided their tax returns. If he wants to put the Russia tax returns (ties) issues to rest, he should provide the returns like all the other President's have done. Simple.
Polls don't show that. Just look around on TV and watch all the town halls going on. Both Dems and Reps are getting hammered hard on the tax return issue.
The same polls that predicted that Hillary Clinton would be the 45th POTUS? I wonder if President Trump is paying rent for the considerable space he occupies in the heads of the mainstream media?
That's funny. You guy trust the polls when there good and favorable to you. Kind of like the CBO jobs report.
Sean Spicer said during a press conference that the good CBO job reports (per Trump) during the Obama years were not good/incorrect. Then, a good jobs CBO report came along during Trump's watch. He suddenly believed in the CBO report. All the others were fake. By the same token, some of my brothers on your side don't believe polls unless they are good for their purposes. That's the parallel I was making.
If this is true, the liberals set themselves up for this. They were the ones saying he paid 0%, just on hearsay. They were the ones riling the public. Again, if true now he is taking advantage of it. Leaves liberals FUBAR on this.
