Court officials have no authority to interfere with ICE investigations and arrests, even when they set foot in county courthouses -- and ICE agents have been arresting illegal immigrants in courthouses in California, Arizona, Texas and Colorado.

Activists fear ICE’s presence in courthouses could deter illegal immigrants from appearing in court. San Francisco Dist. Atty. George Gascon called ICE’s forays into courthouses shortsighted because some immigrants will simply avoid court to avoid arrest.

According agency spokeswoman Virginia Kice, ICE’s actions in courthouses has been, in part, driven by an increase in the number of local law enforcement agencies refusing to detain illegal immigrants in county jails. I don't know about that. I remember many in the latino community (Including Linda Sanchez) being very vocal and upset. Probably one of the reasons 24% (or 27%) of Hispanics (many of them Dems) voted for Trump. Kind of illogical, but there it is.

Using that logic, let's just let everyone go, since criminals will simply avoid court to avoid jail time.

Avoid the law. A void, the law. Courting the law. It's what you make of it.

OTOH, I'd be thrown to the dogs.
