Appear to be unaccredited - State Authorized. I poached some info from another forum and Googled the rest.

    (1) City University of Sioux Falls - http://www.cityusf.us/about/about-c Not to be confused with RA University of Sioux Falls.
    (2) Si Tanka University - www.sitanka.us I was directed there by the City U. of Sioux Falls site. Both schools have Sioux Falls SD addresses.

Applicant for City U of Sioux Falls appears to be Dr. Dai Xulong, President. I believe he also owns Victoria U., Switzerland. Here is the app.

Apparently, a few individuals teach at both schools, and the catalogs have similar content.

Yes - schools seem to have quite similar teaching objectives:

One teaches no undergrad programs, just two Masters - Computer Science and Information Management
Other teaches two Bachelor's degrees - Business Admin & IT plus 2 Masters - MBA & MS Computer Science.

I'd have thought one school could do both, but what do I know about the business of education?

Perhaps these South Dakota schools are aiming for a certain market segment - folks in Asia who aspire to a genuine (though unaccredited) American degree. Preston University, Pakistan, did much the same thing years ago, offering Pakistanis legal-but-unaccredited American degrees from Alabama-licensed (at the time) Preston U. Dr. Dai's Victoria University (Switzerland) serves markets in Asia; perhaps these two SD schools will, too.

Nil sub sole novum. Et semper caveat emptor.

For ten or more years in the 90s and 00s, South Dakota was used as an address by quite a few non-wonderful and outright phony schools. Then the state got tougher laws, and the bad guys moved on. One wonders if things have changed again. The tiny town of Dakota Dunes, right on the Iowa border, was home of several of the umcampuses.

Some info on the naming of both these schools.

    (1) City University of Sioux Falls: Mighty close in name to RA University of Sioux Falls - here: Home - University of Sioux Falls

    (2) Si Tanka (Big Foot) University: This was a closed school, subsequently reopened (unaccredited) by a group of alumni in 2010. It was originally established by Native Americans, Regionally Accredited and named after a Sioux leader. Details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Si_Tanka_University There appears to be some synergy between the two schools, but Dr. Dai's name does not appear on the Si Tanka U. webpage. Harold Harris is listed as the President.

I didn't find on the web pages whether their degrees are fully online or not. If they have campus operation, and somehow get approved for SEVP by DHS, market segment for these schools might be students seeking an I20 form to apply for F1 visa/status to come to/stay in the US. There are many schools where this is a big enrollment driver, from RA through ACICS to unaccredited to outright mills.

From the City U. of Sioux Falls page: "...offering a unique undergraduate and graduate programs offer either online or in class."

So it seems the unique offer they're offering is offered in both formats. Two possible market segments, then.

Yes - and whois tells me both sites (Lincoln and Si Tanka) were registered by the same person. He's also the contact for this school site: http://www.ieiusa He appears to be an internet professional who sets up websites for clients - not a serial school-owner. Naturally, he has yet another site for his web-design business.

This, plus quite a lot that's been borrowed from Western Kentucky University and other schools, is rather telling, I think.

    And then there were three?

Strange. In another thread, the ever-resurgent Paramount California University is discussed. From its (former?) site, it appears to have morphed into Pacific Cambria University, with an address in San Francisco.

However, a whois check reveals its site, www-dot-pcu-dot-edu registered as follows:

    Registrant:
    Paramount California University
    2601 S. Minnesota Ave. Suite 105-103
    Sioux Falls, SD 57105
    UNITED STATES

A third um, non-traditional university is now in Sioux Falls SD? Getting crowded! Amazing that the .edu domain has been inherited from Plantation Christian University (name changed and now RA) to Pass Christian University to Paramount California - and that last school's site is being used to advertise a fourth school, Pacific Cambria.

Here's our most recent thread on Paramount California U.

    http://www.degreeinfo.com/accreditation-discussions-ra-detc-state-approval-unaccredited-schools/53948-paramount-california-university.html

I wonder what Educause, the organization that looks after .edu domains would make of this "great-great-great-grandfathering" of a .edu domain -- assuming they knew, that is.
And I wonder what links there are between Paramount California U. and Pacific Cambria, which appears to have permission to gazump the Paramount California (now in South Dakota?) website.

And I wonder MOST what unusual confluence of stars is suddenly attracting multiple schools without CHEA / USDoE-recognized accreditation to Sioux Falls SD?

A UPS store, and the same box (103) used to house Trinity College and University.

Familiar addresses, familiar websites changing hands ... probably a familiar name or two will show up. Matter of time.

According to this, the infamous Concordia College and University was also at one time located in Sioux Falls, as was Bronte International University (newer name for Trinity)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concordia_College_and_University
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronte_International_University

Quite a history here....Bronte, Trinity and Concordia, all in the same town. Saturday night must have been fun. Probably still is, now that the town appears to have three more Universities.

So...the name Trinity probably has more to do with the number of universities using the same address than any religious affiliation, yeah?
