The downfall of ACICS results in renewed interest in ACCSC, including the Feds For-profits rush for accreditation reprieve from ACCSC | Education Dive
(1) Looks like I was right, on this earlier post of mine: "Maybe it's a good time for ACCSC and ACCET to hire a couple of extra people. The phones might be ringing with would-be customers..." (2) Hope I'm wrong on this one: "Trouble is, the ones we'd least like to see accredited would probably be first in line, brandishing money and hammering on the doors, like it was a Black Friday sale." Note to Ted, who asked why ACCET was mentioned: Besides continuing education, ACCET does accredit schools offering vocation-oriented Associate degrees. Schools offering degrees solely at this level might be interested. J.
As far as I know, ACCSC doesn't carry any of the kind of baggage that ACICS has carried around for a long time. Hopefully, they won't accredit schools that don't deserve it. That's all one can reasonably ask. J.
Well, even if ACICS gets delisted that doesn't mean all the schools it accredited were crappy, so it will probably be okay, particularly since ACCSC would be keenly aware of their level of exposure.
