To me, yes. I like Abner and I respect Abner. But I think we have two candidates with dirt on their hands. It's all politics as usual unless someone can uncover a really good scandal (murder, hate crimes etc).

    Aww, we like you too.

I like you too Cory. It's been boring on the Trump front, nothing exciting to report lately. At this point, Trumpmania has runs it course for me. I just never seen anything like the guy. This will be something to remember.

America is the loser with either of these two!

Trump and Hillary are merely symptoms of the problem. We have a serious democracy problem. We also have a congress that is not representational of the wants and needs of its people. Congressional districts are drawn like a political version of a grade school dodge ball team selection. Imagine if we all just went in and voted for a party and if a party receives 10% of the vote they get 10% of the seats in the house. Imagine how diverse our political landscape would be and how much louder a single voice would be heard.

Instead we have two parties. We say that a single party state is repressive. But we get all smug because we have TWO. It creates an illusion of choice and nothing more. The GOP says it is for free markets but is the biggest advocate for corporate welfare. Democrats say they are for the poor but are in bed with the investment banks that caused the mortgage bubble and the market crash of 2009.

They both suck because they are both the same. They are both the same because, even if one loses. They know they'll be back in a few years.

We have a one party system with two heads.

    This is very interesting...

Some years ago I remember when Sen. Bob Casey, the son of a very popular former PA Governor of the same name, was running for office. I don't recall if it was during his election for the Senate or whether it was for his Senate run.

    Anyway...

The local news was interviewing people on the street in Wilkes-Barre and Scranton and asking what people thought of him as a candidate. Numerous elderly voters said "He was a great governor of course I'll vote for him" evidently confusing him with his father who had died years before.

I don't have any personal issue with Sen. Casey, mind you. But I was a bit disturbed by the fact that people would be voting for him thinking they were actually voting for his father. Some people did think it a bit sleazy that he would capitalize on his father's name. I was more concerned with the fact that voters could be that ignorant.

Many people vote party line and never know who they are actually voting for. The result is that unqualified candidates unseat qualified candidates at the local level because of some national trend.

Maybe an exam or two wouldn't be such a bad idea.

I remember reading (or being told) in a PoliSci class that in the 1932 presidential election, some significant percentage of the FDR voters thought they were voting for Teddy.

Capitalize on his father's name? It's his own name, too.

So what if it is his name? He wasn't famous. His father was. He absolutely capitalized on his father's name even if he happened to have the same name.

Did I tell you that the election of my dreams would be George P and Chelsea?

That's what I thought too. But now we know that's not the case after all:

Hillary Clinton’s health just became a real issue in the presidential campaign

And that's the Washington Post, not Fox News or Breitbart. Wow.
