So, longtime lurker seeking some assistance for degree completion...

I have about 20 credits (general ed., nothing toward a major) or so through a community college and a state university in NJ. I work in healthcare (Business Division) and while a degree was not needed in the past it's become the norm. I doubt i'll be able to advance unless I have the paper. I'm also severely limited if I change employers. I'm interested in TESU BSBA in Healthcare Administration but would consider other General Management Degrees if it would save time and makes more sense in terms of value in the eyes of an employer. Finances are also a big consideration, so Ideally, any program I follow does not require a hefty fee to get started. I should be able to swing the $2000 residency waiver however if that is the route to take.

I plan on testing out (Clep/DSST/etc) for all the remaining credits.

Any suggestions, cheap and quick is the goal.

    Thank you in advance.

I should add that my employer (small hospital) was just bought out by a lalge healthcare network and my position is usually occupied by degreed professionals. Thus the urgency...

Looks like you've already got this figured out. Can't go wrong with TESU.

Just as AV8R has said, if cheap and quick are your priorities them you're on the right track. However, even that is based on the premise that you can cram effectively and pass each test on your first try. I've never taken a CLEP test of any sort so I don't know how easy/hard they are.

I took several CLEP and DSST exams and only failed one. I never studied for any of them.

Well, we know that you are brilliant but . . . (controversial statement warning) . . . if you can take a college level test that supposedly covers an entire 3 credit course and pass it with out studying then I'm not sure that's really a measure of anything (grimace, waiting for slap)

I'm far from brilliant. I did try to only take exams that I thought I had a good chance of passing. On many of the multiple choice questions it isn't that hard to narrow the choices down to at least two (if you don't outright know the answer). This gives you a 50% chance of guessing correctly.

Yeah, I know. You're kinda making my point.

Thank you so much for the encouragement and responses everyone! I really appreciate it. I'm leaning toward starting out with the AAS in Business Admin at TESU, anyone have any experience with the program? I'll have to decide that this coming week, but scheduling four clep exams (easy ones) over the next two weeks. I figure that even though it may cost a little bit more, having the AAS will take less time and will be a credential in my hand. I spoke with TESU yesterday and moving from AAS to the Bachelors in Healthcare Admin is pretty seamless. Does anyone have any thoughts about the AAS first and then the BSBN at TESU?

I didn't mention that our small hospital is being acquired over the next month, so I think the AAS, which shouldn't take much more than 6 months for me if I put in the effort (and have a bit of luck) and that may be enough time to survive the takeover transition.
