Was great to get may Nations U diploma today. Looks really nice, unfortunately the fine upstanding postal worker we have bent and creased it down the middle. I am total and eternally greatfull to Nations and this board for encouraging me to attended and allowing me to do so. Nations is a fine school and I would encourage anyone looking to learn about the Bible to attend.

Congratulations on your degree. I once had this type of issue with a diploma sent by mail, from a different school. It said "do not bend" so the postal people scrunched it - more wrinkles than an elderly African elephant!

My solution: Since then, I have always asked the school to mail the diploma in the same (unbendable) thick cardboard packaging they use for sending textbooks and course materials -and told them why I was making the request. This has worked for me at a couple of schools.

That's a good idea. The worst they can do is say no, right?

Yes - and nobody has, so far. If a school did, I'd even consider a trip to pick up the diploma. Always wanted to see Belford U's Karachi campus....

    Congrats, b4cz28!

Hopefully you didn't break your keyboard with all of the essays they require! I mean gee whiz, it's like you have to write the entire Bible in addition to reading it in that program, lol! It's great that they make students really have to earn that degree.

Lots and lots of writing. My last class final project for BRS 20 was around 20 pages. That was just the last paper, there were many more. From the time I started until finishing after they received accreditation I can say the program has changed a lot for the better. I always felt they were a quality program and now with DEAC they have the proof. Still a less than $1000 a year it's a still. You can take as many credits as you want in that year.

Unusual for a religious school to have moonshine-making equipment, but no objections here... Whatever keeps tuition low!

Nice...Yes I guess that's the wrong kind of "steel" or is it "steal"? I really need to be more careful as I was accepted to graduate school.

Congratulations. If you are intending to frame it, you might request that they send you another one. Cannot hurt to ask. Also, make the suggestion noted about packing.

More congratulations - on being accepted to graduate school. And yes, it's "steal."

I know a woman who works in a printing company. She could scan that diploma, photoshop out the crease and print you a copy that's virtually indistinguishable from the original. Frame the new copy, n one will know (or care).

The diploma I received for my PhD from Union was ornate--full of lush language and scripted fonts. All the flourish you'd expect, even from a modest little school. On the other hand, my diploma for my DSocSci from Leicester was plain, small, in portrait format, and only contained the barest minimum of language. This from a British university. (I was thinking something along the lines of the Magna Carta, you know?)

    Both arrived uncrunched, thankfully.

Congratulations on your degree, no matter what the condition of the (replaceable, you know) diploma.

Could a photocopy diploma be considered as counterfeiting? For example: neither Kinkos (FedEx Office) nor Kwik Kopy personnel will photocopy college /university diplomas.

As Rich suggested … a legitimate replacement diploma is available via the university.

Considering how illiberal a lot of laws on the books are, it wasn't an unfair question.

So you think that if I bring my college diploma to a copy center and make a copy I am committing a crime? It's really quite a ridiculous idea. I've been asked to make copies of my diploma as a part of a job application process. So is the company ordering me to commit a crime? it's just silly to think so.

No I wasn’t. I’m not an attorney though. Nonetheless, I’d consider there’s legitimate reason/s (possible illegality exposure) that the two aforementioned firms' employees will not photocopy diplomas. Again, could such be considered as counterfeiting … no matter whom or why is requesting the diploma photocopy?

Maybe one of our attorney members will chime in ...
