I stopped at the pizza question. No real hippie survey would exclude a vegan option.

I guess I'm "Silent Echo II," then.

Hey, I was THERE in the 60s -- and if you were there, you're not supposed to remember much. I seem to recall having the hippie-name of "Drunk Guitar-player" once in a while. 50 years on, I still play guitar, but haven't had a drink in quite a few years.

No way I'm answering all those questions, can't I just pick my own hippie name? I'll be Yo-Yo Smoothie. :veryhappy:

    Radical Duck.

No, it didn't come from the survey. Hippies don't take surveys.

No, wait, that's the punch line to the "how Indians get their names" joke.

How the hell are we going to reconcile there being this many Silent Echoes?

Seriously, would it have killed them to throw in a few more possible outcomes?

"This town ain't big enough for that many Silent Echoes..."

Seriously, there should be more combinations (although I totally see Ted as a Patchouli Prince):smirk:

Patchouli is a plant - very popular in the 60s and no - you don't normally smoke it, but you can try if you want. Native to warm Asian climates and has been used in perfume for centuries.

According to Wiki, the name derives from the Tamil patchai (Tamil: பச்சை) (green) + ellai (Tamil: இலை) (leaf).

Here's an article, "1968 called - it wants its perfume back." https://www.lush.ca/on/demandware.store/Sites-LushCA-Site/en_CA/Blog-Posts?cid=article_10-things-know-patchouli

As for me, I first heard of it in 1961. I was acting in a Chekhov play (The Cherry Orchard) and there was a line "There's a strong smell of patchouli in the air" - a minor insult referring to another male character's cheap perfume.

P.S. I'm sure you know what a prince is, Ted. After all, here at DI you're the Prince of Posting.
