ACCJC - Accrediting Commission for Community & Junior Colleges, the branch of WASC that accredits 2-year schools.

If ACCJC were to fold, WASC would just pick up those schools (like the other 5 regionals do).

What's interesting is the battle royale between WASC and these schools. While California has show wavering levels of commitment towards regulating schools in the state--currently on the 'low' side, IMHO--the state is big enough to be the tail that wags the dog (WASC). This kind o thing could lead anywhere. The state becoming an accreditor, for example. While crushing what's left of WASC. Or it could force whatever changes it desires from WASC.

This might just all blow over. Or it might just be warming up.
