Bradlay University's page is pretty shrewd - or perhaps not. They show a class - SIX smiling, super-attractive young women - ONE guy. Oops - they're gonna get applications for on-campus study - not DL!

Overall, these sites are miles ahead of past generations of these "schools." Axact is telling us they're here to stay. Lots of videos, acting jobs etc. Good pay, probably.

They've certainly gone to a lot of trouble to appear "real." I checked Youtube footage of some Axact-school professors, who turned out to be genuine, US-based academics. At least two of them listed on the Granton U. site are shown on Youtube as faculty at MUST university - MUST was one of the Axact originals - has to be one of their first five schools, 'way back! Do these academics have any idea they're listed at MUST, Granton U. or anywhere but their RA schools in the US? And how was this footage obtained?

Quick check - there are YouTube videos featuring NINE "MUST University faculty members," who by day are genuine professors at RA universities in the US!

Their pictures and names are on other Axact sites besides MUST U. Re-use and recycle, I guess!

Maybe, but Sacramento International, San Francisco International, Bellington and Melviz University were also among the early birds. The first one I came across - more than ten years ago - was Bonneville University.

Just when I thought it was over -- and hoped it wasn't. I hoped US authorities would get around to this Axact thing, as I feel Pakistan has failed utterly in the whole debacle. US authorities have good reason to act: "...as the charges filed in the court revealed, most of the fictitious institutions cited to con consumers were based in the United States."

Not looking good for any Americans found to be mixed up in this Axact thing.

Looks like business as usual for Axact, according to this blogger.

    https://edualliancegroup.blog/2016/11/05/fake-degrees-are-back/

The blog states (correctly) that Nixon U. is back -and that Paramount California U., often listed in the media as an Axact school, is also back. It further states (and I verified) that the current Paramount California U. site registration now indicates a South Dakota address - and that the PCU site itself defaults to a "new" school, Pacific Cambria University. Something on this blog I did not know - the US phone numbers shown on any of these sites do NOT necessarily mean there is an actual US location of any kind. US Phone numbers can be acquired by offshore entities.

Over the years the www-dot-pcu-dot-edu site has belonged to Plantation Christian University (became RA accredited and changed name), Pass Christian University (unaccredited and never in Pass Christian MS) Paramount California University (no recognized accreditation) and now, Pacific Cambria. Why that .edu domain has gone unchallenged for so many years, I have no idea. Perhaps it's the moving-target syndrome.

Well OK, I'd like to make a small editorial point. We all know that there are crimes that are sometimes referred to as "victimless crimes." Gambling is often cited as a victimless crime. Many people "know a guy" who you can call to place a bet. It's happening all over the country right now with March Madness happening. Illegal gambling happens everywhere, everyday. But where does the money go? It's a for-profit endeavor and the money from small time bookies travels up the ladder and ultimately gets used for all sorts of things like gun running, human trafficking, etc. Things that are not "victimless crimes." I think that some of our law enforcement members could confirm that this is true. Well the same general pattern has emerged in this Axact case. We can see in the above story how money from the Axact degree mill operation is being used to influence law enforcement, politics, and now aiding a fugitive criminal not only to live outside the law but give him a platform for whatever twisted ideas are running through his head. My assumption is that there are even worse things happening, things we know nothing about at this time. So when you hear about these degree mill operations, don't think that the only "crime" being committed is that some pathetic person is cheating their way into a job promotion. There's every reason to believe that the money they paid for that fake degree is trickling up some creepy ladder and into the hands of someone who's going to use it to do something seriously bad.

Well-expressed. As you say - many people "know a guy" who will place a bet. I'm sure some people in that chain "know a guy" who will beat somebody up or kill them for a fee. It goes up and up. As far as Axact goes, their money has earned them a captive media organization, BOL - they can tell people whatever they want...

Right. I don't believe in "victimless crimes" either.

If victimless crimes weren't pointlessly illegal, they wouldn't be available as fundraisers for violent criminals. Drug cartels can survive just about anything government can throw at them, but they couldn't survive the end of drug prohibition.

I agree - but it would have to be a world-wide end to prohibition. And just when are we likely to see that? And - although I'm not opposed to ending the prohibition - since when is drug addiction victimless? Granted, the number of victims would likely reduce hugely if the prohibition ended, but it would still not be victimless. Even alcohol, while not a crime, at least in this part of the world, is not victimless. Families are broken, people get ill, people die... (and yes indeed, prohibition made things much worse.)

And I'm sure plenty of profits from legitimate businesses are used to finance awful things. Look at the bin Laden family. Through its enterprises, Osama, seventh of 50 children (by 10 wives) of Mohammed Awad bin Laden, a construction billionaire, became a very rich man, well able to finance terrorist acts. And the bin Laden companies were highly respected enterprises. To quote a Pakistani-Canadian I worked with, who had worked for years in Saudi Arabia, "if you worked for a Bin Laden company, you were well-paid and had a darn good job."

@Kizmet. Yes - I, too, am distressed at the thought of what a Pakistan-based company with no scruples and a pile of cash could do. After all, this is the country that allowed Osama Bin Laden to hide in plain sight for five years! A volatile place with massive corruption etc. AND they have the bomb... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan_and_weapons_of_mass_destruction.

BTW - with my interest in mashrabiya (Arab decorative woodwork) I ended up surfing a bin Laden woodworking site myself a few years back. Nice, but I wasn't buying, of course.

And the clones keep coming: Caralyn University, Brooks Fargo University, Creeks Edge University...
