Has anyone created any courses for Udemy? I have been thinking about it (in my spare time :squareeyed: ) and wanted to know if anyone has done it already. Any tips or suggestions?
I've viewed a few out of curiosity, and I've noticed they range from lame voice-over-powerpoint to full scale video production. I've considered it, but I'd want to be on the higher-quality end, and I just don't have the resources.
My hesitation/question is how you'd scale up? If you're a student, would you start paying more later? I know they give you coupon codes to hand out and drive traffic, half off I think? Also, if you look at the royalty, it's pretty low already.... I think you'd be doing a lot of work for very little return.... unless you charge more. Some of the nice ones have huge attendance and bring in $$$$. Granted, we don't know if those are all paying students, but once you get a following, I think you get a "fan" of your "brand" and that helps get things rolling. A decade ago we owned an ice cream truck. Sum total of that experience (though it was lovely) is that I'd rather sell 1 item for $100 than 100 items for $1. EDIT: I wanted to add that what colors my perspective is that I'd probably only be offering 1 class (if I turned my book into a full-class) which limits my number of repeat customers but 100% drives my business via word of mouth (my Facebook fan page) so it would have to be good.
Sooo... if I have some pre-recorded lectures I did for some of my classes and I put them under the creative commons, should I upload them to this site? Thoughts? -Matt
That was awesome. It increase your knowledge related to particular field. I prefer to read from SSSTS courses they provide with an authenticate certificate after the course gets over.
Yes. I've been thinking to create course. I created mine 6 months ago. It was easy..But if you want to create some you should think about topic. People may be interested in what you're proposing them. Wish you good luck! I hope to see it soon)
