    I've certainly noticed this. It also makes me wonder how long their non-belief will hold when the world knocks them to their knees or they have some sort of health crisis and they need other worldly help that's not coming from the secular world.

    It's a myth that there are no atheists in foxholes. Some people's core beliefs are stronger than whatever adversity they may encounter. (Or perhaps they're simply too proud. You decide.)

    That's true -- and there are many people in hell who were (formerly) atheists. Once we enter eternity, our fate is permanently sealed. No ifs, ands or buts. Not even a maybe.
