Yep, my bachelor's degree in business administration (BSBA) was officially conferred today. Everybody else says it when they cross over, so I may as well join the crowd. I am looking at the following colleges for a possible master's degree program:

    Liberty University
    Amberton University
    Waldorf College[/B]
    American Public University
    Southern New Hampshire University

    Alternative choices:

    Grand Canyon University
    Bellevue University
    Regent University
    Southern Wesleyan University

4 brick and mortar/online versus one strictly online for my top choices:cool:. Anybody got an opinion as to which is the better school? I don't want to spend over 20k on a master's program if possible (give or take).

    Congratulations!

My Bachelor's degree is from Bellevue.
Next week will be the half-way point for my MA - Management and Leadership at Liberty.
I have done research on the MS - Operations and Project Management at SNHU.

I have had great experiences all around.

    Congratulations!

Have you chosen a subject yet? Also, does Waldorf College have a graduate program yet?

First of all, Congratulations! From your list, I would vote for: Liberty University, and Alternative is Regent University both are Christian school and private not for profit schools in Southern Virginia.

Is there any reason you narrow down to these schools? I mean there are plenty schools that offers AACSB accredited Master degrees online.

Congratulations! Like Rich, I think SNHU is interesting. But I suppose what would be best would depend in part on in what discipline your Master's will be.

Waldorf is starting a master's program in organizational leadership around August of this year.

They are pretty decent schools, not to expensive, and have what I would be interested in for a master's program. Don't want an MBA for sure.

    Waldorf Colege Master's degree.

Waldorf College is preparing to launch it's first master's program around August 2014. It will be a program in Organizational Leadership. I got this information from the school.

I would scratch all your second choice schools. None of them are very repeatable compared to Liberty, APU, and SNHU. (Except Regent University)

    Just my .02 cents

Congratulations! A degree is a great accomplishment.

You should choose your 2nd college based on a): your area of study (which of the universities listed offers the best program in what you specifically want to study) and b): the area of business you want to move into (for example, if you plan to work for a large baptist non-profit, Liberty would likely be your best bet, as it has denominational links as well as academic ones).

(As a quick confession: I am in the UK and don't know much about any of the unis you've listed).

Good luck in your future studies!

I'm not saying Regent is a bad school, but their tuition rates have never impressed me. One can do an MBA through Cumberlands for $9,000 total tuition, less than one third what it would cost to earn an MBA from Regent.

You guys really have me digging Liberty and SNHU. I must say these schools really appeal to me. Then again so does American Public University. I am so confused. I wish I came from one of those families where everyone went to a specific school, and that was that!

Good job! Way to jump right in, rip it off like a bandaid. I had a very good experience at AMU/APU for my MBA. Of the two, I would probably go with SNHU if the degree is in your field of study. Actually I would go with a night and/or evening program at the state school closest to you, but for online I'd go with SNHU as well.

    Again, congrats.

    Hi anngriffin777,

Congratulations on getting your bachelor's in business administration. I wouldn't recommend that you waste your time and money on obtaining an MBA from any of the schools that you listed above. Most corporations prefer experience over MBA degrees from no name schools. Unless you're going to get an MBA from tier 1 schools (e.g., Stanford, Harvard, Wharton, UC Berkeley, etc.) you're better off putting your energy into obtaining work experience, or simply taking higher level accounting courses or getting a CPA license.

    Cheers!
