Let's cut to the chase shall we? I will be getting my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I am not sure if a online school exists that fits all of these criteria and in no particular order:

    1. Regionallly accredited.
    2. Affordable. Looking to get $250-$350 per credit hour. Hopefully $250 per credit hour.
    3. Reputable. I don't want to get laughed after I graduate and my future boss sees what school I graduated from.
    4. Non-profit. Not a deal breaker. It's okay if it's a for-profit university. Most of them are anyways.
    5. I am really hoping for this one. That the school covers the books and will send you the textbooks instead of you purchasing the textbooks at insanely high prices. But not a deal breaker.
    6. Not a diploma mill.
    7. A university that you actually can say after you graduate that you learned A LOT.

I can donate via PayPal $20 to anyone that can help out. That's all I can afford right now. I had some unexpected car repairs come up.

I really hope someone can help out. I need to go to school quick.

The price tag for undergraduate in Computer Science depends where you are located. Florida State University's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Obviously in-state tuition is only available to Florida residents. So, here are some of the undergraduate school offers Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and hold at least regional accreditation. You will not receive book supply from public and non-profit university.

    - Alabama - Troy University (Public) Ranking: 6
    - Colorado - Colorado Technical University (Private/Profit) Ranking: 8
    - Colorado - Regis University (Private/Non-Profit) Ranking: 3
    - Florida - Florida State University (Public) Ranking: 1
    - Illinois - University of Illinois at Springfield (Public) Ranking: 4
    - Maryland - University of Maryland - University College (Public) Ranking: 7
    - Ohio - Franklin University (Private/Non-Profit) Ranking: 5
    - Oregon - Oregon State University (Public) Ranking: 2

Out of your criteria for tuition, I think you have to look for public institution for instate tuition. With that tuition requirement, you must take a look at Troy University's Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science and University of Illinois' Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Criteria # 7: Whether learning a lot depends on individual, not necessary the institution itself. "You can lead the horse to the water, but you cannot make it drink." If you want to know how to save lot of money and time regarding to Troy University's program, let me know. I am the alumnus of the school's program, which I graduated in 2006 while the program was named Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

When I first started looking at Troy tuition was around 215 per hour. Boy how things have changed in the last five years.

I started the program in 2004 at $140 per credit, and graduated in 2006 at $165 per credit. I assume tuition is almost double within 7 years because of state budget deficits.

The information provided here is FREE. It's all here. Already been done. Your question, and a dozen variations of it. It might take you more than 1 post to get your question answered, and it might take you a month of digging. So what? Investing a month here will take you farther than what you can get for $20. (except that I can tell Tekman wants this BAD, and that advice will be sound, but still...it's kinda pathetic that you're not willing to do your own homework. This is, after all, YOUR degree.)

    Suggested rewording:

I've been lurking here for a month. I've narrowed down my choices to the following schools: X, Y, Z. The most important criteria for me are: A, B, C. Is there anything I'm missing? Can anyone offer any pros/cons on those schools, or perhaps offer other schools for me to check out? Thanks.

@JC31279 You mentioned that you're about to get your Bachelor's degree. However, you did not mention if you are looking to do a masters degree or a second bachelor's. You also did not mention the major.

You might want to look at American Public University:

    1. Regionally accredited.
    2. Tuition is affordable: $325 / credit hour for masters.

I live in Alabama and have watched all the state four-year colleges tuition increase. It's getting out of hand.

    Monkey see, money do.

Before the advent of the internet, tuition was always historically lower in the deep south, but the advent of internet college degrees has opened up the eyes of college administrators in the deep south because they now see how high tuition is in the rest of the nation -- and southern colleges are quickly racking up the tuition fees. A national tuition equilibrium is occurring.

    I agree.

I also see a lot of schools compare how affordable they are to for-profits like Phoenix, Capella and Walden.

I want the money up front -- first. In non-sequential 100 dollar bills. No markings and placed in a brown bag. Meet me behind the library at 5:00 PM.

In my first post I mentioned I will getting my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

Not sure about getting a second bachelor's. Most likely leading towards a Master degree.

I have actually looked into American Public University. They provide the books as part of the tuition costs. But sadly no Computer Science degree. I was interested in the Mathematics degree.

Are you JC31279 or linuxguy? Now, I am confused.

If that is the case, have you thought about Georgia Institute of Technology's Online Master in Computer Science? It is only about $500.00 per class. The entire program costs about $6,600.00.

Yep! I'm the same guy lol

I have heard about Georgia Institute of Technology. I thought you had to get your Bachelor degree before you had to your Master degree. Correct me if I'm wrong though. Not sure about that. Plus I think I will struggle getting that degree since it has been a REALLY long time since I have graduated from high school. I wish I could go there though. I LOVE the price of tuition very affordable.

There are exceptions, but they're few and far between. You can safely assume you need your Bachelor's degree first.

Are you seeking to start earning a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or you are about graduating with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science?
