I agree. It has been years since I've been to a Wal-Mart.

 

I used the Carolinas as an example because I know a family that moved here from Charleston, and they all speak without contractions. I figured that was a standard thing.

This thread got totally derailed, whoops. I'm starting to look more at environmental engineering programs, I might just have to bite the bullet and learn to like math. We'll see how AP Stat goes this year, but I've never taken a calculus class in my life. Ruh roh.

 

In all seriousness, good luck with getting this all ironed out. I also wanted you to know that you are allowed to take AP exams EVEN IF you have not taken the course. You have to get permission to register from a school (doesn't have to be yours) but this is simply a phone call to area AP coordinators *being sure that the schedule doesn't cross your own AP exam schedule* and off you go. You generally have to sign up or at least get on the list soon. (next month). But, I tell you this because you are obviously bright, and you all the very selective colleges love AP exams (assuming you pass) on college aps. In addition, many schools award advanced standing and or credit for passing scores. AP CLASSES can be a bear, but you can self-study at home for the subjects and not mess with the classes. The reason people don't do this is because all AP exams have writing requirements, which might be a big deal for some, but I think in your case you can pull off a 5-paragraph essay no probs... so it's really just a content thing.

 

Yes cookderosa! I knew that, and I am actually planning to take the AP Psych test this year without taking the course. My dad writes psychology textbooks, so I think I've got enough localized resources to make it through the test on my own :U This year I am also thinking about taking the AP Euro test, even though my history course is AP Human Geography. We'll see how it goes!

 

In some parts of Canada they end some sentences with "eh?" Once upon a time everything is California was "bitchin" (that's probably not true anymore) In Boston everthing is "wicked awesome." We all have our colloquial expressions and that's fine, it's good, it's wicked awesome. But sticking y'all into parts of sentences where it doesn't fit sounds stupid, contrived and fake. Just like Paula Dean. Have y'all figured out that I've got a little thing going against Paula?
