He got out the car? Zimmerman got out the car!!

Now he’s helping other people get out of their trucks!! He’s an accessory to malicious vehicle exiting!

Did he profile the truck? I'm sure the DOJ will get him for assault on the highway.

Good grief. Here's a list of things we know about the worlds most dangerous man:

    1. He mentored two young black kids (whose father is subsequently in jail).
    2. There was a homeless man who was abused by the cops. GZ passed out fliers, went to church and handed out fliers there, and also went to the police department on behalf of the BLACK homeless man (the only person to do so).
    3. Pulls people from their cars when they have accidents.

This guy cares about his community.

Anyone want to make a list of all the community related things TM did? Assaulted an upstanding member of a community that he was a visitor to? Messed with the wrong peruvian hispanic jew? Make fistfuls of cash for his mother $ybina?

Good grief, you cannot write this stuff if you wanted to. It happened last week, GZ never told anyone not even his lawyers. The irony of this whole thing is beyond belief. What are the odds?

You have a previously unknown, private American citizen who is now among the most reviled that I've ever seen (by a good % of the population); this guy is piled-on by the media, politicians, celebrities, again to a level I've never seen before when it comes to a private, unknown individual. But here’s where the REAL irony comes in: This guy who’s attacked and hated by a large number of Americans?… this is a GOOD guy. And not just an everyday, “he’s OK” kinda good. But a REALLY good guy, a 1 in a 1,000 type of guy. Every single one of his current and past friends show this. His past actions (in his concern for others, despite no reward for himself) shows this. And helping the people in this car accident — when he was in hiding and in fear for his life — ABSOLUTELY shows this.

George is something special. Which means that the people who hate him are the lowest of the low. Nothing but slime.

    Hey Cory,

Did you hear George Zimmerman is petitioning the court to change his name?

He wants to be called Ben Ghazi so Obama and the mainstream media never mention him again! :) haha

Where are the soon to be reports that he overturned the car in the first place!?

Isn't Zimmerman's mother a person of color? My spouse just gave me this bit of information. She and I have different views of the situation.

Yeah, one drop rule and all. He's certainly not just a (completely made up) "white" Hispanic.

Pretty funny. He'd be even safer if he renamed himself "Libertarian Party" since there's an impenetrable mainstream media blackout of non-Wall Street party candidates.

It's kind of amazing how the Census Bureau went back in time to make up "white Hispanic" well before Trayvon Martin's death became news, just so that the media could use it in the present time when referring to Zimmerman.

It's also amazing how the memory has been planted into my brain of, for my entire life, wondering if I should check the box of White Hispanic or Black Hispanic, poised next to the boxes of non-Hispanic White and non-Hispanic Black, on any number of forms.

My god- it gets worse! Somehow, the pages of both my World Population and Cultural Diversity text books have magically changed to include sections on White Hispanics.

How could the media have pulled all of this off?!

The crash site is about a mile from where the shooting took place. Zimmerman is still in the area!

Us white guys call that "Grande Testiculo".

I really don't get the big deal about this term, but then again, I'm more educated than most people on cultures, ethnic groups, races, etc. Hispanic is a made up ethnicity mostly based on language. There are black, white, indigenous (Native American), mestizo, mulatto, and everything else Hispanics. While I wouldn't classify Zimmerman as a white Hispanic (he's more than likely mestizo), many Hispanics who look like him do classify themselves as white. They are often allowed to choose Hispanic as their ethnicity and something else as their race. That's the reason why when I often read statistics, they have a percentage for white people and a percentage for non-Hispanic whites. The second most popular combination seems to be Hispanic other.

Alfonso Ribiero is an Afro-Latino. Do you really think he is looked at the same as a white Latino with blonde hair and blue eyes?

I understand that distinction on the census, I've filled a couple of them out even ;)

My beef, is how all of the sudden the actual term "white Hispanic" surged in popularity at the start of this case when the media started to brand GZ as a "white" Hispanic. I use the Google Trends website to look up term and their frequency of use:

    Google Trends

That's the one for white hispanic. It's actually a neat tool, you can type in search terms and see how they ebb and flow. Gay Marriage is another one that is interesting to look at.

I've heard the term mestizo before, what would GZ be considered? Since his ancestry is Peruvian? Still Hispanic? I know that on his voter registration he listed himself as a Hispanic.

Sanantone acutally makes a great point in how we/others classify ourselves. It's never really black and white, that is for sure.

Yeah, I remember that. Plus his run in with law enforcement - there was a couple of those I recall as well. I believe there might be something coming down the pike on the molestation charges? Probably. We'll get him on something, anything.
