Liberty Online 4 classes in 8 weeks?

Straighterline and Cleps have been hard but I've managed while working full time. I will finish 2 classes with Liberty May 10 th and then a new 8 week semester begins. I am thinking of taking 4 classes (i am off for the summer). they are level 2 and 3 classes so I can do the last four classes over the next 2 semesters while working. They will be level 3 psychology classes and one hard philosophy.

Sound doable or should I scale back on it?

8 week semester- 4 classes lower level no full time working
8 week - 2 classes upper level while working full time
8 week - 2 classes upper level while working full time

 

I can attest to the fact that Liberty courses are a lot of work. That might be a little ambitious. But only you know for sure. You are one hard working person, I know that for sure.

 

In general, I don't understand cramming a bunch of classes into such a short amount of time. What are you learning exactly?

 

I agree with you Steve. I'm graduating this semester from Liberty with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I did only two classes each 8 weeks, which allowed me to do 12 units per semester--that was very difficult in itself.

Also, you cannot go over 18 unites (I believe) without permission from someone in administration. I would just stick with a load that is not as stressful. I will tell you that I just finished the philosophy class a few weeks ago... it's very hard! It's considered a level 200 class, but I would say it was around a 300 or 400 in content; I mean the books were so difficult to grasp. I had to have my wife read them to me out-loud because my dyslexia kicked in. Egh!

 

What are the PSY courses? Some PSY courses from LU are a breeze while some are quite difficult.

 

I wouldn't try it, but it's possible. I took LIFC 301 LIFC 303 and they weren’t too bad. I think both those classes are upper-level PSY electives.

From my experience the religion and philosophy classes at Liberty are time consuming.

 

I do 4 grad level courses every semester at LU. 3 is full time. So its doable just crazy.

 

Well they made a mistake so I had to drop one. Took one alone the next 8 weeks so I did get 12. I need 6 more classes.
Considering this schedule: Taking a 2 level and a 3 level PSY 8 weeks, then a 2 level and a 3 level PSY 8 weeks, then (becuase I have heard the spring is very taxing at my new job) taking 1 3 or 4 level class in 8 weeks and 1 Phil class (I am saving that hard baby for last) 8 weeks.
Problem is I am starting a new job and am already quite worried (plus I just lost my dad 2 weeks ago, so its been extremely hard). I am trying to choose between Intro to Substance abuse (305) and PSYCHOLOGY of Personality (344). Do the higher last two numbers indicate difficulty? If anyone has a suggestion (except anything to do with math) for a level 3 or 4 that would be easy I'd appreciate it. I am trying to get a degree to teach Art, it's required that I finish this year to be certified next year. So I really don't mind picking easy over interest at this point.

No, not if they are both 300-level courses. LU posts the on-line course guides on luonline.com so you should be able to see the "level of difficulty" for each course.

 

For some reason not all list levels of difficulty. I cannot find the 305 or 306.

Thanks, I found the syllabus online just not the ones highlighted in yellow that rates the difficulty. Did you take each class? If so which was easier and could you do it working full time with an additional level 2 class?

 

No, I didn't take either. I was a graduate TA for LU back in '07 and downloaded all the syllabi from the psych programs.
