Wouldn't you love to put a face to a name? LOL I was interviewed by Charlotte Homeschooling about my new book and this is the final cut. Considering the half dozen times I'd gone off in some random direction and had to stop and ask "what was the question again?" I think their editor kicked butt. I'd say you were the best looking homeschooling author, but that sort of thing gets people in trouble these days.
Jennifer, Great video. Here's a story along your lines: Home-schooling parents turn education into play - Video on TODAY.com You home school folks are making a difference! Congrats,
HA! Not from me Steve, I'll graciously ACCEPT that complement and return with a "thank you kindly." At 42, I'll take that kind of complement all day long. :naughty:
<<<<BLUSH>>>>> Thanks everyone- btw, I think that link is dead now or is dying. That was sent to me for review, and now that I've given it the thumbs up, I think it will be moved to the Charlotte Homeschooling Youtube Chanel.
It's gone now. The permanent home for that link is here: Across the Table with Jennifer Cook-DeRosa - YouTube I'm first, but they are adding other interviews in the near future for people who may be interested in hearing what homeschool folks have to say.
Consider this Maniac's mind blown as he finally realizes that "Cook" is her name and not a residual title from her former line of work. :Eyecrazy: Congratulations on all of the work, the product, the sucess, the recognition and the excitement!
And, not to be feminist, but with a maiden name like "cook" in my profession, I just couldn't let it go.
Nicely done. Wish we could homeschool our kids. The bullying my 6th grader is enduring is getting the best of all of us. But, I guess that's what people talk about when they mention that homeschooled kids miss out on all the great "social" interaction of public schools. That and knowing how shitty their pants are and that their shoes are "lame". Good video Jen.
I recommended your book to some friends of mine, whom I was giving advice on the same subject. They were excited to even know that such a book exists! They are planning on homeschooling their son starting next year, his 10th grade year. A late start to homeschooling, but given how driven the kid is towards his goals and given what a terrible environment his local high school is, we all agree that this is likely the best choice for him. Anyway- if you have other recommended resources for their situation that I can pass on to them, it would be greatly appreciated!!!
Wow Maniac! THANK YOU!!! I love having a fan. Tell them to visit my Facebook page and "like" the page so she gets updates in her news feed. If they don't use FB, I post an identical tweet on twitter (@JDexplainsit) that they can follow. I'm there every day and they can ask questions, get resources, links, etc. My content was finished last summer even though it didn't come out until December, so since then I have accumulated a bunch of stuff to share- and FB is the place I do that. Again, thank you! Link to Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HomeschoolingforCollegeCredit
