I just noticed that Liberty University is now offering several DBA degrees and MSIS. Now that I have moved a new company, they will pay for a second master's. I'm seriously considering the M.S.I.S in Technology Management :)

    Joel,

Where do you find information regarding to Liberty's DBA via distance learning?

Google has nothing. Looks like just because they offer one on campus doesn't mean they have current plans to offer it online.

It's still possible that the new DBA programs could be offered via distance learning. I looked over Liberty's web site and the new doctorates are not showing up on the list of graduate degrees offered on campus. It's probably a simple case of the web site needing updating. I'm sure an e-mail to Liberty's business school would reveal the new doctorate's delivery method.

I picked up the phone and called Liberty's business school a few minutes ago but was diverted to someone's voice mail. I just sent them an e-mail to ask for clarification on the delivery method for this program. I'll let everyone know what kind of response I get.

I just got a response. Most of the DBA program will be offered online with the exception of three mandatory intensives. Here is the response I got:

When I created the initial post, I made a hyperlink with the word, "Liberty University" that shows you the degree plans. It appears they are still updating the website, because I'm currently looking at the M.S.I.S. for technology management, and they are still creating course guides for this new program.

Why it is not AACSB accredited like University of Liverpool's DBA? lol

    Just kidding!

That is a great new more option, but the price tag is the same as Wilmington University's DBA. Now need to debate which school has better reputation.

That's what I thought at first, but upon closer inspection, it may end up being cheaper. If you look at the course list for the DBA in accounting, for example, only 45 credit hours are at the doctoral level while 15 credit hours are at the master's level. I looked up Lliberty's MS in accounting program and those 15 credits are the same ones listed for the master's program. It also states that 15 credit hours can be transferred into the program.

So, unless I'm misinterpreting this, a person who already has those 15 credit hours from a master's degree program should only need another 45 credit hours to complete the DBA, which would make it about $22k total.

Since Liberty University is one of the few institutions that allow NA degrees to meet admission requirements, will a NA masters degree allow admission into the Liberty DBA program thus bypassing the RA masters degree requirement most universities have? If so, looks like a big loop hole for NA students seeking a RA DBA.

I am 99% sure NCU also allows NA masters for the doctorate degrees.
    Good news about Liberty.

Just send them an e-mail and ask. That's what I did and I had an answer to my question within a couple of hours.

I'm currently attending LU and am enrolled in the MAML program. Sort of wish they had the MSIS program last year because my undergrad is a BSIT. Either way I just wanted to point out something for Military and this includes Veterans. The tuition for all online courses no matter the level is 250 a credit hour. One of the main reasons I picked LU for a Masters. VERY military friendly. The DBA would be a steal for active military and veterans.

At $ 494 per credit @ 60 $29640, the price is right. however a research only phd is in my future. Therefore liberty dba in not in my future. As as note, 4 of the dba courses are part of the master. I guess if one completed their msa accounting then you only have 48 credit to go for the dba for $23,712. Well there is a new player in town. Why pay more?

For Active Military and Vets its $250 per credit @ 60 it's $15,000 and for 48 credits it's $12,000. For a RA DBA that's crazy cheap. Of course not everyone on this forum can get those rates but its still good info to know.

I don't think $250.00/credit applies to Doctor of Business Administration. According Liberty University, $250.00 per credit as:
    " Military Tuition Discount
    Online, military students and spouses

All qualified online military students and military spouses (as defined in 1 U.S.C. § 7) are given a discount to bring their tuition down to $250 per credit hour. This applies to Associates, Bachelors, and Masters level programs, as well as the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and Educational Specialist (Ed.S.). This tuition discount keeps tuition within the TA cap per credit hour.

Please note: Other than the Ed.D and Ed.S. programs mentioned, the tuition discount is not applied to any other post-graduate degrees such as the Master of Theology, Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), Doctor of Philsophy Counseling (Ph.D.) and the Doctor of Philosophy in Theology & Apologetics (Ph.D).
