It's a solid school with a strong reputation in the Virginia area.

I have a close friend who was working as a teacher in an underprivileged rural area in DC. She went to George Mason to get her Masters in Special Ed. She attended on campus and loved it. I can't tell you any more than that. But as AV8R said, it has a strong rep in Virginia.

I earned my undergraduate degree and one of my master's degrees from George Mason University. I really liked it and I'm happy to see the school's reputation and rankings perennially increase beyond its already "strong reputation," as AV8R mentioned. I haven't met any disappointed alumni and I know many of them.

What are you considering? Some programs are better than others, as is typical of most universities.

The school's great. My brother-in-law went there for his undergraduate degree, and since then he has started his own LLC company and got accepted to Harvard University.

Twenty years ago they weren't considered at the top, but that's changed. I've worked in higher education in the D.C. are for some time, and as the public research university for one of the country's most affluent areas, GMU is a major force. They've had at least two Nobel laureates on faculty, for example. What program of theirs are you considering?

I attended George Mason University for my Master of Science in Telecommunications for one semester. The school is great with good reputation, especially the Law School. A nice campus, especially School of Engineering and Science. It was found as part of the University of Virginia. With National ranking...I thought about Ph.D in Information Technology with Information Security at GMU; however, the program is very competitive because of reputation and tuition affordable. You cannot go wrong with GMU's degree.

The law school went from non accredited - I think that GMU bought an existing law schoold - to top tier in about 30 years. Not shabby. What is it's reputation out of the area? I don't know. They have an excellent reputation locally, however.

I have alot of credits: CLEP, DANTES and past undergrad school credits. I heard George Mason University accepts up to 90 credit hours of credits. And if they do ...thats nice and dandy for me

Last time I looked, which I admit was a really long time ago, George Mason didn't accept all CLEPs and those they did they didn't necessarily accept as per the ACE recommendations. Tread carefully.
