Has anybody had this done? I am looking at options for my driveway. Concrete coating is one option, though I may check to see if having some concrete cut out for brick or stone inlays (embedded) in the drive way will be equally cost effective, etc.

    Here is an example:

Look up stamped concrete overlays for more ideas.:bigeyes2:

I followed your link and I'm interested in the concrete sealer. I had my driveway poured, stamped and sealed a few years ago and it looked great, but now it is beginning to fade. I think that sealer might do the trick.

Thanks!!!!!!!!! I heard that term before, but I could not think of it when I started do my internet searches. We have some local companies around here that do it. I have to see what is more cost effective.

These labors of love for one's castle can become quite time consuming! Ay Dios mio. Right now I am cleaning out the spare bedroom(which has become our storage room over the years). My goal is to clean it out, repaint, have more lighting installed, new fancy ceiling fan, etc. Should look nice when it's done. These things are hard to get done when you are working full time +!

    Ay dios mio!!!

    It's worth it though,

Yeah, seems like a good company. Home Depot sells this product called "Armor trak" that kind of has the same effect on wood. I am thinking of trying it on my deck. If that doesn't work out, I am going to replace the wood with that wood which never has to be painted. I think it has a fiberglass overlay, and comes in colors (not vinyl).

    The goodies never end!!!!

    See ya,

Actually, your moniker reminds me of surfboard shopping. I need to ditch my old short board, and get a sweet longer board. There is a place by me that sells used sports stuff, and their boards are SUPER cheap. Some hardly have any dings.

Hmmm. I am kind of leaning towards stamped cement. My neighbor has a business that does that. I might ask him for a quote just for the heck of it. He did his own driveway to mimick slate. It looks good.

I have river rock on my house, so a stamped river rock driveway would look good.

    Thanks! Abner

Staped and brick require the replacement of the existing concrete. Most driveways are at most 4" thick and to give any surface such as the brick or stamping requires a minimum of 2" of removal. Thus it requires almost total removal and replacement.

Sealers and coatings look good for about 2 to 4 years (depending on use and climate).

Another option is polishing the concrete (Polished concrete - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). With this and some stains the concrte can look like granite or othe stone.
