I have been looking at an online MBA and had a question. I like the concept of breaking the 16 week term into two 7 week classes. That way as a working professional I only have to concentrate on one class at a time. I know that Arizona State and Washington State operate under this structure. What other online MBA programs have that structure instead of 2 classes for the 16 week term.

    for clarity sake....

South University has 5.5 week classes and 11 week quarters. Students take 2 classes per quarter; usually one every 5.5 weeks. You can double up if you want too.

NCU has 8 week classes and you can accelerate them to 4 weeks or so if you have a lot of time on your hands. You can also double up with advisor approval.

Ashford has condensed, 6 week courses you take one at a time. They're not easy but they are fast.

If you're looking for really short classes, there's also National University and Salem International University. Both of these schools have 4-week courses.

You might take a look at American Military University American Public University System - Official Site - 877-755-2787. They have courses lasting 16 weeks, 8 weeks, and 4 weeks. What I'm not sure about is whether all programs have all three options or whether the number of weeks in a course is specific to certain disciplines.

5.5 week semesters? Or 5.5 week quarters?

Which Online MBA Programs have the single class structure

Thank you for the feedback. To be more precise, I am looking for programs that are associated with major well known colleges that will have a solid reputation nationwide and even internationally.

So far the only 3 I have found are Northeastern, Arizona State, and Washington State.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Was in St. Louis this week and noticed a billboard for Missouri Baptist University. They have an MBA program with 8 week terms, no necessary pre-reqs, and you can transfer in 6 grad credits regardless of subject. This is the most flexible MBA I've seen other than Webster U, which lets you earn a sequential MBA (if you already have a Master's) with only 21 core credits and the MBA pre-reqs. MBU is RA, but not ACBSP or AACSB accredited. Anyway, looked interesting.

There are 8 semesters/periods/time blocks or whatever you want to call them. They are 5.5 weeks each.

Most of the courses offered in Mississippi State's online MBA are available in an 8 week format as well.

If you want that much of flexibility, you need to pursue a course through distance learning. You can do this according to your convenient time.

When you say "distance learning" and "flexibility", you probably mean "Self-paced"?
In USA (at least), most online/distance programs are not self-paced, unless explicitly mentioned. Every course has a preset duration (usually either 4 or 8 weeks). The exceptions are schools like WGU, where you complete the course at your own pace.
