Only 3 months late (par for the publishing course). Roughly twice the size of the 2005 version, with a lower cover price.

Cover price is $21. You can buy it for $11.92 through Amazon (that's less than my special author's price buying from the publisher), or locally for $21 and help keep your local bookstore alive a bit longer, or if you'd like one autographed by both authors (with a line of 'dedication' if you wish -- your suggestion, but our final decision), that would be at the cover price + $3 for shipping in the US. Thanks to Square, all credit cards or PayPal OK. Email for details.

I notice that the Kindle edition is still the first edition, not this one. I see Amazon has the price at $16.38 today. The $11.92 price is from a reseller, "fantastic_shopping." I wonder if this edition will soon be available for the Kindle?

Nice to know that this edition isn't posthumous as you kept claiming it would be :)

JB: Well actually the posthumous one would be "Bears Guide" in which I say/tell/reveal/descubrir el pastel on all the matters that I have been unwilling to say publicly because of possible revenge of one kind or another. (If the quite elaborate life span predictor at Living To 100 Life Expectancy Calculator is right, I've got 23 years left.

You mean we have to wait till 2038 for a Bears' Guide 17th edition?

Ted: You mean we have to wait till 2038 for a Bears' Guide 17th edition?

John: Perhaps. Since Random House bought Ten Speed Press, they now own the rights, and even the use of my name, when used on degree-related books. They are slowly going through the 2,000+ titles they acquired from Ten Speed, deciding which to have updated and reissued, which to abandon, and which to sit on for a while. They've only dealt with 3 of my 14 so far (all cookbooks), saying yes to two, no to one. They are, in turn, a part of Bertelsmann, world's largest publisher, and cannot be rushed, at least not by the likes of me.

As a very junior police officer in 1983, I purchased John's book and, as a result, I then enrolled in the Regents Program and achieved my first degree. This was something that was somewhat closed to me because of my educational background in this country at that time. There was a very small advertisment in a local paper marketing John's book and studying with a US university. I think it may even still be around here somewhere. Unheard of here at that time, particularly in the small country town I lived in. Nobody had ever heard of any US university here other than maybe Harvard and a couple of others because of films and television.

Now this forum combined with john's expertise and book has marketed education to the world. A small acorn has sprouted into a mighty oak. this is something that should be celebrated and supported. John Bear has earned a special right.

It was 1980 for me. I was finishing up my bachelor's degrees from Regents and possessed materials from a prominent California state-authorized school, persuaded by the anti-accreditation argument offered. Then I got the rest of the story from John's book (6th edition) and off I went....
