Even if it was the case (i am not sure if it is true) that Trayvon tried to grab the whackos gun, I probably wouldn't blame him. The shooter looks like some unkempt unshaven guy with a diamond earing, and looks shifty. If this guy approached me and did not have a badge or some kind of uniform, I would probably beat the shit out of him too. Did this happen the way the shooter says? I highly doubt it. This facts would have come out right from the begining, and the cops would have mentioned if right off the bat to avoid the firestorm of outrage they currently face.

It turns out this paranoid police complaint caller had some problems in the past with the cops himself, like assault and battery on a cop. He sounds like the typical guy who is angry because he could not make the cut for being a cop. Thus, he spends his nights and days chasing phantom criminals in order to be his neighborhood hero. LOSER! L!

Wait, how is that meaningfully different from being afraid of Martin because he was wearing a hoodie? I love you man, and I appreciate that you're motivated here by your sense of justice, but you weren't there, and you've never met these people, so you can't really know what happened, and it's not right to judge people under those circumstances.

    Please post the entire post:

"The shooter looks like some unkempt unshaven guy with a diamond earing, and looks shifty. If this guy approached me and did not have a badge or some kind of uniform".

My point is this guy never identified himself as any kind of authority. This is why the cops told him to back off and let them handle it.

See my response to Bobby Jim above. If a guy comes up to you and does not identify himself as any kind of authority, what are you supposed to think? Yes, the shooter looks like a bum, with not badge to flash, wouldn't you be leery? If you say no, then you have no sense of fight or flight.

Here is what I know so far. The guy did not stand back like the cops told him thus refusing law enforcement directives, and continued to pursue, no longer standing his ground.

This is the dumbest term I ever heard and rates up there with "reverse racism". Is that loving all races? If you steal isn't that a hate crime because you hate being poor?

Just trying to have some humor in tough time ...

Abner, I do travel a bit with my work…..sometimes to the west coast. If you see an unidentified, unkempt and unshaven engineer wearing steel-toe shoes, camo cargo shorts, orange or yellow shirt, red/white/blue hardhat, and a hoodie…..don’t kick his ass…it’s could be me!

As long as he doesn't try to chase me and point a gun at me, I won't.

There is always another side and the only fact you know is that the kid is dead. Why label this guy a loser and "typical guy who is angry because he could not make the cut for being a cop." Think back to the Olympic Park bombing and that poor wrongly accused security guard that was more like a hero that tried to save people. Put the lynch-mob mentality in check for a while.

"With a single punch," the Orlando Sentinel, citing police sources, reported Monday, "Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer ... climbed on top of [him] and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered."

OK, let’s all crank it down a bit!

Don’t take my designated role from me….it’s my job to be the token bigot here! :crying:

Fanning the fires are not going to make matters any better. We only know what the media has leaked to us in bits and dribbles.

Well well well...looks as though Martin followed and attacked Zimmerman now. Zimmerman was walking away to his SUV when he was attacked by this "Kid". Who the media keeps showing a picture of when he was 14 years old not 17...why is that?

    Witness: Martin attacked Zimmerman

ps. wait till they come out and say the person calling out for someone to call 911 was Zimmerman.

Hmm. There are witnesses from both sides of the camp. Of course, this article is from FOX, so we will see how it pans out. It's funny how no police pictures (standard police practice) of the shooters injuries were taken, nor was he taken to the hospital since he feared for his life.

It kind of tells you something when Jeb Bush says these "stand your ground" laws should be revisited.

I was a police officer as you might recall and I can tell you we did not just hand out crime scene pictures to the press. The police say it was Zimmerman call for help...well wait and see. You must know this was not some sweet young kids. This is the guy up unproved decked his bus driver in the face. Got caught with dope at school and was just suspended for 10 day for an unknown reason.

I don't know what really happened. I just want you and others to understand there are two sides to everything. If it's too crazy to be true, it's more than likely not true.

Also I have to ask why the older picture? What do you think about that?

    B4,

We have differences of opinion. I have a right to mine. Something tells me things don't add up. Time will tell. I have made certain statements, and I stand by them as they are my opinion. Things were handled very oddly in this case. We have not heard much about the shooters less than stellar past either.

We will see. I do have a problem with the police telling zimmerman to stand down, and him refusing to do so (like when he assaulted police officers). At that point he was pursuing, not standing his ground. I think there is a reason why trained professional law enforcement needs to handle these kinds of situations. Either way, zimmerman will be in a whole world of hurt.

Time will bear this out. Let justice prevail.

Like I said earlier, let the grand jury decide...they will see evidence and hear testimony that nobody else will see and hear. I saw where CNN had a poll and article citing the poll that showed something like 2 out of 3 Americans want Zimmerman charged. Well what the hell difference does that make? All that means is that the media effectively destroyed this guy using parts of the limited evidence they were privy to. It's a good thing public opinion polls do not determine who gets charged and who goes free. If the grand jury indicts this guy, he's done IMHO due to public sentiment being so strongly against him. But without that indictment and with multiple investigating agencies not being able to pin him down on anything, he walks. I am quite certain however that they will find something to charge him with. Law enforcement is a long way from being non-political and someone somewhere will want to "make their bones" on this.
